Abstract: Power wastage is one of the most serious problems at present. One of the major challenges at the moment is the improvement of the present street lighting system. To control and maintain complex street lighting system more economically, various street light control systems are developed. The advances in the technologies related to wireless communication has led to the emergence of several engineering designs to aid the human requirements. Monitoring of street lights and controlling, plays a significant role in developing country like India and implementing mobile communication for facilitating electricity board is the basic idea of proposed work. In this paper we are proposing a simpler, multipurpose, cost-effective design to control the on-off mechanism of street lights via Short Message Service (SMS).

Abstract: Street light systems are publicly accessible electrical pieces of equipment out of the physical control of who operates/owns them. Street lighting systems typically include low-voltage loads, distributed in a large area, and are collectively protected by the same device. Under fault conditions, hazardous potentials may appear on the metal enclosures of these systems, and expose people to shock hazards. To reduce the risk to an acceptable level, different solutions for the bonding and grounding are available. The Standard IEC 60364 and a current worldwide tendency seem to encourage the use of Class II equipment for the street light systems. Class II components, such as the wiring systems, the light fixtures, etc., have double or reinforced insulation. In this paper, these authors analyze technical alternatives to protect against indirect contact in light of the IEC standards. In order to elevate the level of safety offered by Class II metal poles, the adoption of special circuitry and bonding connections to continuously monitor the double insulation of metal poles is proposed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A street light control device displaying dangerous situations and a method thereof are provided to help a driver to recognize dangerous situations on the road such as an accident or construction by controlling a street light in a corresponding region. CONSTITUTION: A street light control device includes a plurality of street light controllers(110-1~110-n), a management server(130), and a gateway(120). The street light controllers change the state of the corresponding street light according to a control signal for changing the state of the street light. If the management server receives dangerous situation generation information, it searches a street light close a corresponding area and transmits a state change control signal to the street light. The gateway relays data between the management server and the street light controller.

Abstract: LED Street Light Research Project Street lighting systems can account for as much as sixty percent of a municipal government’s total electricity use. New lighting and sensor technologies can reduce energy usage and save money. A major trend in street lighting is to use light emitting diode (LED) technology as a means of lowering energy use and overall maintenance costs. However, RCI's research indicates that performance issues have been neglected. The study team investigated the technological possibilities, best management practices, lessons learned from cities using LED lighting, and the place-making and aesthetic impact of LED lighting. The team also investigated the issues surrounding the replacement of existing fixtures with equivalent LED fixtures. The City of Pittsburgh engaged the Remaking Cities Institute (RCI) to investigate the full range of potential benefits of a replacement program in business districts. The research team included Carnegie Mellon University faculty and researchers from the Remaking Cities Institute, School of Architecture and the School of Drama, as well as lighting consultants from C & C Lighting, LLC in Pittsburgh and Orfield Laboratories, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN.

The street light comprises a street light controller, a solar battery, an LED module, a battery power detecting circuit, a street light wireless transmitter and a street light wireless receiver; the battery power detecting circuit is used for detecting the electric quantity of the solar battery; the street light wireless emitter is used for sending out electric quantity information; and the street light wireless receiver is used for receiving an external control instruction. The remote control comprises a remote control wireless transmitter, a remote control wireless receiver, a displayer, an input device and a remote control controller; the remote control wireless transmitter is used for transmitting a control signal; the remote control wireless receiver is used for receiving the electric quantity information of the street light; and the displayer is used for displaying the electric quantity information.

Abstract: Based on the analysis and comparisons of the existing street system,and with demands of control and management of today's society street light,in this paper,we designed to conduct street light system,which is achieved the real - time control and detection of a single lamp by means of wireless sensor technology.We analyzed the framework of embedded lights control system design,and designed system software modules to complete the system function,and then achieved real -time information exchange,intelligent control,scheduling and management between the control center and lights.Using the technology of wireless sensor network,we designed street light node module,and realized the real - time control and detection of the single light in this system.

Abstract: An interactively controlled energy-saving LED street light device consists of a street light control host and street light terminals respectively equipped in light boxes of a plurality of street lights. The completion of the installation of this invention enables street lights to provide safe illumination with desirable illumination when vehicles are driven on the street and to automatically save energy when no vehicle is on the street to provide active energy saving effect. In addition, the street light terminals of street lights communicates with each other by sending, receiving and transmitting wireless signals, and the registration ID code of each street light terminal, after being switched on, allows automatic verification and registration on the street light control host, to provide the capability of management, control and setting. Thus, according to the number, condition, or requirement of respective street light installed on the street, regardless of the temporary addition or elimination of street light terminals, all equipment and specifications can remain without alteration, and the system can be set up with the same street light control host, thereby providing a consistent stable function control. More particularly, the street light control host of high response capability can response to the flexible function setting of abnormal or failed street lights automatically, such that abnormal or failed street lights can still maintain desirable street illumination or provide illumination with reduced energy consumption before repair. In addition, regardless of the number of street lights corresponding to the street light control host, only one outbound network connection is required to enable the remote monitoring device to completely take control of the operation state of all street lights, and the remote communication resource and costs and management costs can also be reduced.

Abstract: In order to improve the management efficiency and energy saving effect of street light control system,it's very important to design a self-group network.With the model of street light monitoring and management system,the characteristics of wireless Ad Hoc networks and the application development method for the energy-saving street light control system is discussed.The system programme consisting of GIS network and real-time control is proposed.The design of street light control system is given including hardware design,software design,application profile,IP address allocation mechanism.The system programme is tested on the platform of Chipcon CC1101.The proposed system is successfully applied to actualproject.The street lightenergy-saving control system has characteristics of intellec-tualization,informationization,high reliability,low cost objectives,etc.The obvious energy saving control result is obtained.

In the technical scheme of the utility model, the main street light is used for obtaining outside light intensity by using the sensitization element, and communicated with slave street lights around the main street light through a Bluetooth communication system so as to uniformly control all street lights around to be synchronously switched on or off, thus the shortage of the traditional solar street light control system is overcome.

Abstract: High-power light emitting diode (LED) develops greatly owing to its energy efficiency, light mono-direction and long operating life. But it is critical to have a secondary optics design for the LED street light, for obtaining good output efficiency and light distribution pattern. This article introduces many advantages of LED as street lightings source, and also analyzes the status and features of LED lamps’ application as street lightings. This article mainly designs a secondary optical light distribution implement using Lighttools 7.1. This paper also gives an example of one kind of freeform surfaces lens which can realize rectangular light shape.
