TL;DR: In this article, the couplings join to form the connector, while the stub tubes telescopically mate to provide fluid communication through the connector and the housings, and the stopper seals the stub tube while the cap matches with the housing to isolate the sealed stub tube in a spaced enclosure.
Abstract: A tubing connector having two couplings, each coupling including a central stub tube and a spaced, concentric housing. Each coupling is adapted to be placed on a tubing end with each stub tube in fluid communication therewith. The couplings join to form the connector while the stub tubes telescopically mate to provide fluid communication through the connector and the housings telescopically mate to isolate the mated stub tubes in a spaced enclosure. Each coupling is provided with a closure which includes a cap and a stopper. The stopper seals the stub tube while the cap telescopically mates with the housing to isolate the sealed stub tube in a spaced enclosure. The closures are dimensionally configurated to mate while the couplings are mated to form the connector.

TL;DR: In this paper, a tuning member is threaded in a hole through the carrier of the microstrip transmission line with the metallization removed from the ground plane of the transmission line immediately above the hole.
Abstract: Two embodiments are disclosed to tune microstrip transmission lines. One embodiment includes a stub strip conductor disposed on the microstrip transmission line substrate at right angles with respect to and spaced from the strip conductor of the microstrip transmission line and a tuning member at right angles to the substrate disposed over the gap between the stub strip conductor and the strip conductor. When the distance of the tuning member above the substrate is varied the shunt impedance of the microstrip transmission is varied. The other embodiment includes a tuning member threaded in a hole through the carrier of the microstrip transmission line with the metallization removed from the ground plane of the microstrip transmission line immediately above the hole. The inward and outward movement of the tuning member provides a variable series impedance for the microstrip transmission line.

TL;DR: In this article, a broadband quarter-wave plate having a minimum axial ratio over an octave bandwidth comprises a waveguide transmission line having a tapered dielectric slab and a plurality of longitudinally spaced pairs of rectangular waveguide stubs connected to the line in alignment with the undelayed component (EN) of the spatially orthogonal linearly polarized waves comprising the principal electromagnetic wave propagating in the transmission line.
Abstract: A broadband quarter-wave plate having a minimum axial ratio over an octave bandwidth comprises a waveguide transmission line having a tapered dielectric slab and a plurality of longitudinally spaced pairs of rectangular waveguide stubs connected to the line in alignment with the undelayed component (EN) of the spatially orthogonal linearly polarized waves comprising the principal electromagnetic wave propagating in the transmission line. Each stub is oriented with the longer of its cross-sectional dimensions extending transversely of the direction of propagation of the wave in the main line and the stubs comprising each pair are diametrically opposed to each other. The transmission line to which the waveguide stubs are connected preferably is square waveguide although circular waveguide may also be used with advantage. The stubs are perpendicular to the axis of the line or alternatively may be folded to conserve space. The primary phase changing element, preferably a linearly tapered or step-tapered dielectric slab, is mounted in the line adjacent to the stubs for longitudinal compactness of the assembly. The relatively small waveguide stub is the electrical equivalent of a frequency independent lumped inductance having utility in other waveguide circuits such as diplexers and filters employing a series inductance element as part of the waveguide circuit.

TL;DR: In this article, the length of conductor (WL1, WL2) is used for dividing up signal energy derived from a voltage source with n outputs, or it may be used for blending signals from n sources into a single line.
Abstract: The device is used for dividing up signal energy derived from a voltage source with n outputs, or it may be used for blending signals from n sources into a single line. Lengths of conductor (WL1, WL2) connected in parallel are used and they have an electrical length of one quarter of the wavelength at the frequency being used, or an odd multiple of this. One end of each of these lines are brought together onto a single terminal (E) and the other ends may be short circuited together via resistors. Stub lines (Wk1, Wk2) are connected either to the short circuiting terminals (A1, A2) or the terminal (E) and their other ends are earthed. The system may be produced as a printed circuit.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determine TIM line's basic transmission line properties and provide basic design data, including line impedance and effective dielectric constant as functions of the geometrical parameters, and the characterization of simple discontinuities such as stub junctions, series gaps, impedance steps and mitre bends.
Abstract: : Trapped Inverted Microstrip, or TIM, line is a novel transmission line invented for the purpose of reducing the radiation from discontinuities and obtaining reduced line loss compared to conventional microstrip. TIM line also possesses several other useful features and is potentially an attractive transmission line medium for the microwave integrated circuit (MIC) technology. The objective of the study was to determine TIM line's basic transmission line properties and to provide basic design data. The scope included the line impedance and effective dielectric constant as functions of the geometrical parameters, and the characterization of simple discontinuities such as stub junctions, series gaps, impedance steps and mitre bends. It also included the design of a well-matched broad band transition from coaxial line to TIM line. The data generated was also applied to the design of a 3dB branch line hybrid coupler.

TL;DR: In this paper, a millimeter wave parametric amplifier and varactor diode mounting structure is presented, which includes a housing within which is a pump frequency waveguiding channel and an intersecting signal frequency transmission line.
Abstract: A millimeter wave parametric amplifier structure and varactor diode mounting structure therefor includes a housing within which is a pump frequency waveguiding channel and an intersecting signal frequency transmission line. The transmission line has a center conductor portion which protrudes into the pump channel. A portion of the housing forms the outer conductor of the transmission line. A pair of uncased varactor diode chips within the channel are stacked and connected in series across the wave guiding channel and are connected in parallel with respect to the inner and outer conductors of the signal transmission line. An adjustable stub means protrudes into the waveguiding channel adjacent the stacked varactor diode chips and defines a capacitive gap across the channel for series resonating the diode chips at an idler frequency. The stub means is located close to the stacked diode chips to provide a short return path for idler current generated by the diodes. The diodes, the stub means and the protruding portion of the center conductor are carried by a thin conducting wafer removably retained by the housing.
