Journal ArticleDOI
Which patients with recurrent implantation failure after IVF benefit from PGD for aneuploidy screening
Peter Platteau,Catherine Staessen,A. Michiels,A. Van Steirteghem,Ingeborg Liebaers,Paul Devroey +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that most patients with recurrent IVF failure may benefit from PGD-AS, however, future studies should more strictly define this heterogeneous group of patients, so that comparison is easier.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A.
A. De Vos,Karen Sermon,M. De Rijcke,Veerle Goossens,P. Henderix,N. Van Ranst,Peter Platteau,Willy Lissens,Paul Devroey,A. Van Steirteghem,Ingeborg Liebaers +10 more
TL;DR: Different fluorescent PCR-based tests are described which allow efficient and accurate single-cell level detection of the CMT1A duplication, which means healthy embryos can be selected for transfer on the basis of the presence of the healthy allele of the affected parent-to-be.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection three years after the birth of the first ICSI child.
A. Van Steirteghem,Herman Tournaye,J. Van der Elst,Greta Verheyen,Ingeborg Liebaers,Paul Devroey +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of ultrarapid freezing of mouse oocytes with increased polyploidy at the pronucleate stage, reduced cell numbers in blastocysts and impaired fetal development.
TL;DR: The proportion of embryos implanting was lower in the embryos derived from ultrarapidly frozen-thawed oocytes and some of the living fetuses were abnormal, but the sample size is too small for the effect to be significant.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of the number of replaced embryos on intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcome in women over the age of 40.
TL;DR: The pregnancy rate and the clinical pregnancy rate after ICSI in women > or = 40 years of age are related to the number of embryos replaced, which is higher when at least four embryos were replaced.
