COVID-19 Lockdowns Improve Air Quality in the South-East Asian Regions, as Seen by the Remote Sensing Satellites

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used satellite retrievals and attempts to estimate the extent of the reduction of major pollutants, like carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), in India and China during January to April, 2020.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploring the long-term changes in the Madden Julian Oscillation using machine learning.

TL;DR: This study shows that the historical MJO index can be successfully reconstructed using machine learning techniques and improved upon and obtains a significant improvement of up to 4%, using the support vector regressor (SVR) and convolutional neural network (CNN) methods on the same set of predictors used by Oliver and Thompson.
Journal ArticleDOI

Controls on the isotopic composition of daily precipitation characterized by dual moisture transport pathways at the monsoonal margin region of North-Western India

TL;DR: In this article, the variation in isotopic composition (δ18O and δ2H) of daily precipitation samples collected from the Kashmir Valley, North-Western Himalaya, to quantify the effect of meteorological parameters, separately for the Southwest monsoon (SWM) season and the periods of Western disturbances (WDs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Linkage between precipitation isotopes and biosphere-atmosphere interaction observed in northeast India

TL;DR: In this paper , an isotopic analysis of precipitation and estimated net ecosystem exchange and latent heat fluxes using an eddy-covariance system in northeast India was performed.
