Impact of Inverter-Based Resources on Negative Sequence Quantities-Based Protection Elements

TL;DR: The objective is to show potential protection misoperation issues, identify the cause, and propose potential solutions, to determine the key features that need to be considered in practical protection studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cyber-Physical Attacks Targeting Communication-Assisted Protection Schemes

TL;DR: The simulation results show that the transient angle stability of power systems can be jeopardized by cyberattacks on the communication-assisted protection schemes, highlighting the need for the development of cyber-based solutions for communication channel monitoring.
Journal ArticleDOI

Short-Circuit Model for Type-IV Wind Turbine Generators With Decoupled Sequence Control

TL;DR: A new phasor domain modeling approach for the wind parks (WPs) with Type-IV WTGs, using the concept of control-based equivalent circuits, which is able to account for the fault-ride-through function of the WTG control as well as its specific decoupled sequence control scheme in addition to the traditional coupled control scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Gain-Scheduled Decoupling Control Strategy for Enhanced Transient Performance and Stability of an Islanded Active Distribution Network

TL;DR: In this paper, a gain-scheduled decoupling control strategy is proposed which reshapes the characteristics of conventional droop by means of supplementary control signals; these control signals are based on local power measurements and supplement the d- and q-axis voltage reference of each DER unit.
