Random forests for verbal autopsy analysis: multisite validation study using clinical diagnostic gold standards
TL;DR: The RF Method outperformed the PCVA method in terms of chance-corrected concordance and CSMF accuracy for adult and child VA with and without H CE and for neonatal VA without HCE and is recommended as the technique of choice for analyzing past and current verbal autopsies.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: This study aimed to provide a novel approach to estimating past SARS-CoV-2 daily infections, cumulative infections, and the proportion of the population infected, for 190 countries and territories from the start of the pandemic to Nov 14, 2021.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of the Tariff Method: validation of a simple additive algorithm for analysis of verbal autopsies.
TL;DR: Verbal autopsies can be an efficient means of obtaining cause of death data, and Tariff provides an intuitive, reliable method for generating individual cause assignment and CSMFs from verbal autopsy data.
Journal ArticleDOI
The WHO 2016 verbal autopsy instrument : An international standard suitable for automated analysis by InterVA, InSilicoVA, and Tariff 2.0
Erin Nichols,Peter Byass,Peter Byass,Daniel Chandramohan,Samuel J. Clark,Abraham D. Flaxman,Robert Jakob,Jordana Leitao,Nicolas Maire,Nicolas Maire,Chalapati Rao,Ian Riley,Philip Setel +12 more
TL;DR: Despite all improvements in design and technology, VA is only recommended where medical certification of cause of death is not possible and the method can nevertheless provide sufficient information to guide public health priorities in communities in which physician certification of deaths is largely unavailable.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid scaling up of insecticide-treated bed net coverage in Africa and its relationship with development assistance for health: a systematic synthesis of supply, distribution, and household survey data.
