Journal ArticleDOI
Magnification-corrected photodynamic therapy.
Siamak Ansari-Shahrezaei,Siamak Ansari-Shahrezaei,Erdem Ergun,Robert Chong,Adnan Tufail,Andreas Wedrich,Michael Stur +6 more
TL;DR: By calculating the actual laser spot magnification in conjunction with knowledge of the true greatest linear dimension of the neovascular lesion, the clinician may be able to deliver a constant predictable amount of light fluence to the fundus independent of the axial length of the PDT treating eye.
The effect of sildenafil citrate (Viagra (R)) on visual sensitivity
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured temporal acuity (critical fusion frequency) and modulation sensitivity in four subjects before and after the ingestion of a 100-mg dose of Viagra under conditions chosen to isolate the responses of either their short-wavelength-sensitive (S-) cone photoreceptors or their long-and middlewavelength sensitive (L- and M-) cones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uncovering of intraspecies macular heterogeneity in cynomolgus monkeys using hybrid machine learning optical coherence tomography image segmentation.
Peter Maloca,Peter Maloca,Christine Seeger,Helen Booler,Philippe Valmaggia,Ken Kawamoto,Qayim Kaba,Nadja Inglin,Konstantinos Balaskas,Catherine A Egan,Adnan Tufail,Hendrik P. N. Scholl,Pascal W. Hasler,Nora Denk,Nora Denk +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid machine learning algorithm was applied for automated OCT image processing and measurements of central retina thickness and surface area values, and the morphological variations and the effects of sex and geographical origin were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
FENETRE study: quality-assured follow-up of quiescent neovascular age-related macular degeneration by non-medical practitioners: study protocol and statistical analysis plan for a randomised controlled trial.
Annastazia E Learoyd,Adnan Tufail,Catey Bunce,Pearse A. Keane,Ashleigh Kernohan,Emily J. Robinson,Alijazy Jaber,Saqlain Sadiq,Robert Harper,John G Lawrenson,Luke Vale,Heather Waterman,Abdel Douiri,Konstantinos Balaskas +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a prospective, multisite, randomised clinical trial was conducted to assess the safety and quality of follow-up within the community led by suitably trained non-medical practitioners for the management of quiescent neovascular AMD.

The Moorfields AMD Database Report 2 - Fellow Eye Involvement with Neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration
Katrin Fasler,Katrin Fasler,Gabriella Moraes,Dun Jack Fu,Siegfried K Wagner,Eesha Gokhale,Karsten Kortuem,Reena Chopra,Livia Faes,Gabriella Preston,Nikolas Pontikos,Praveen J Patel,Adnan Tufail,Aaron Y Lee,Konstantinos Balaskas,Konstantinos Balaskas,Pearse A. Keane +16 more
TL;DR: Analysis of baseline characteristics and visual acuity outcomes of fellow eye involvement with nAMD shows sequentially treated nAMD fellow eyes have better baseline and final VA than non-sequentially treated eyes after 2 years of treatment.
