Immunological events in regressing genital warts.
Nicholas Coleman,Humphrey D.L. Birley,Adrian Renton,Nashat F. Hanna,Balvinder K. Ryait,Micheline Byrne,David Taylor-Robinson,Margaret Stanley +7 more
TL;DR: The changes in regression are consistent with a delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction to foreign antigen, and the ability to induce and mount such a response may be a critical determinant of effective natural immunity to the genital HPVs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crime, fear of crime, environment, and mental health and wellbeing: mapping review of theories and causal pathways.
Theo Lorenc,Stephen Clayton,David Neary,Margaret Whitehead,Mark Petticrew,Hilary Thomson,Steven Cummins,Amanda Sowden,Adrian Renton +8 more
TL;DR: This paper presents the findings from a review of the theoretical and empirical literature on the links between crime and fear of crime, the social and built environment, and health and wellbeing, which produced a holistic causal framework of pathways to guide future research.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tim Weaver,P. Madden,Vikki Charles,Gerry V. Stimson,Adrian Renton,Peter Tyrer,Thomas R. E. Barnes,C. Bench,H. Middleton,N. Wright,S. Paterson,W. Shanahan,Nicholas Seivewright,C. Ford +13 more
TL;DR: Comorbidity is highly prevalent in CMHT, drug and alcohol treatment populations, but may be difficult to manage by cross-referral psychiatric and substance misuse services as currently configured and resourced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Situational factors influencing drug injecting, risk reduction and syringe exchange in Togliatti City, Russian Federation: a qualitative study of micro risk environment.
Tim Rhodes,Larissa Mikhailova,Anya Sarang,Catherine M Lowndes,Andrey Rylkov,Mikhail Khutorskoy,Adrian Renton +6 more
TL;DR: It is emphasised that risk reduction practices may be influenced less by availability of injecting equipment than by an interplay of situational and micro-environmental factors and the role of policing practices in influencing risk reduction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemics of syphilis in the Russian Federation: trends, origins, and priorities for control.
TL;DR: The syphilis epidemic together with changes in sexual behaviour, increased travel and migration, and rapid increases in injecting drug use may create the conditions for an epidemic of sexually acquired HIV infection in Russia that substantially outstrips those encountered in most Western European countries.
