Journal ArticleDOI

Survival and morbidity of preterm children born at 22 through 34 weeks' gestation in France in 2011: results of the EPIPAGE-2 cohort study.

TL;DR: A substantial improvement in survival in France for newborns born at 25 through 31 weeks' gestation was accompanied by an important reduction in severe morbidity, but survival remained rare before 25 weeks, and improvement at extremely low gestational age may be possible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Early versus Delayed Selective Surfactant Treatment for Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Yinghui Zhang, +106 more
- 01 Jan 2013 -
TL;DR: Early selective surfactant administration given to infants with RDS requiring assisted ventilation leads to a decreased risk of acute pulmonary injury (decreased risk of pneumothorax and pulmonary interstitial emphysema) in infants randomized to early selective surfACTant administration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outbreak of Serratia marcescens in a neonatal intensive care unit: contaminated unmedicated liquid soap and risk factors.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe an outbreak of Serratia marcescens and its investigation and control in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during a three-month period, during which five infants were colonised or infected by a single strain of S.marcescens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Left ventricle output and mean arterial blood pressure in preterm infants during the 1st day of life.

TL;DR: Left ventricularoutput, index of resistance to left ventricular output and patent ductus arteriosus status are important to consider in evaluating mean arterial blood pressure during early postnatal life in preterm infants.
