Journal ArticleDOI
Survival and morbidity of preterm children born at 22 through 34 weeks' gestation in France in 2011: results of the EPIPAGE-2 cohort study.
Pierre-Yves Ancel,François Goffinet,Pierre Kuhn,Bruno Langer,Jacqueline Matis,Xavier Hernandorena,Pierre Chabanier,Laurence Joly-Pedespan,Bénédicte Lecomte,Françoise Vendittelli,Michel Dreyfus,Bernard Guillois,Antoine Burguet,Pierre Sagot,Jacques Sizun,Alain Beuchée,Florence Rouget,Amélie Favreau,Elie Saliba,Nathalie Bednarek,Patrice Morville,Gérard Thiriez,Loïc Marpeau,Stéphane Marret,Gilles Kayem,Xavier Durrmeyer,Michèle Granier,Olivier Baud,Pierre-Henri Jarreau,Delphine Mitanchez,Pascal Boileau,Pierre Boulot,Gilles Cambonie,Hubert Daudé,Antoine Bédu,Fabienne Mons,Jeanne Fresson,Rachel Vieux,Catherine Alberge,Catherine Arnaud,Christophe Vayssière,Patrick Truffert,Véronique Pierrat,Damien Subtil,Claude D'Ercole,Catherine Gire,Umberto Simeoni,André Bongain,Loïc Sentilhes,Jean-Christophe Rozé,Jean Gondry,André Leke,Michel Deiber,Olivier Claris,Jean-Charles Picaud,Anne Ego,Thierry Debillon,Anne Poulichet,Eliane Coliné,Anne Favre,Olivier Fléchelles,Sylvain Samperiz,Duksha Ramful,Bernard Branger,Valérie Benhammou,Laurence Foix-L’Hélias,Laetitia Marchand-Martin,Monique Kaminski +67 more
TL;DR: A substantial improvement in survival in France for newborns born at 25 through 31 weeks' gestation was accompanied by an important reduction in severe morbidity, but survival remained rare before 25 weeks, and improvement at extremely low gestational age may be possible.
Journal ArticleDOI
Induction of labour versus expectant management for large-for-date fetuses: a randomised controlled trial
Michel Boulvain,Marie-Victoire Senat,Franck Perrotin,Norbert Winer,Gael Beucher,Damien Subtil,Florence Bretelle,Elie Azria,Dominique D. Hejaiej,Françoise Vendittelli,M. Capelle,Bruno Langer,Richard R. Matis,Laure Connan,Philippe P. Gillard,Christine Kirkpatrick,Gilles Ceysens,Gilles Faron,Olivier O. Irion,Patrick Rozenberg +19 more
TL;DR: Induction of labour for suspected large-for-date fetuses is associated with a reduced risk of shoulder dystocia and associated morbidity compared with expectant management and does not increase the risk of caesarean delivery and improves the likelihood of spontaneous vaginal delivery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Postpartum hemorrhage: guidelines for clinical practice from the French ă College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF) in collaboration ă with the French Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (SFAR)
Loïc Sentilhes,Christophe Vayssière,Catherine Deneux-Tharaux,Antoine Guy Aya,F. Bayoumeu,Marie-Pierre Bonnet,Marie-Pierre Bonnet,Rachid Djoudi,P. Mercier,François Goffinet,François Goffinet +31 more
TL;DR: The preventive administration of uterotonic agents just after delivery is effective in reducing the incidence of PPH and its systematic use is recommended, regardless of the route of delivery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma Active Renin, Angiotensin I, and Angiotensin II During Pregnancy and in Preeclampsia
TL;DR: During the first trimester of normal pregnancy, active renin concentration in the plasma is increased and that renin is not the factor that limits angiotensin II synthesis, and this could contribute to the diminished hemodynamic control observed in pregnant women developing preeclampsia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of spontaneous preterm birth: Guidelines for clinical practice from the French College of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF)
Loïc Sentilhes,Marie-Victoire Senat,Pierre-Yves Ancel,Elie Azria,Guillaume Benoist,Julie Blanc,Gilles Brabant,Florence Bretelle,S Brun,Muriel Doret,Chantal Ducroux-Schouwey,Anne Evrard,Gilles Kayem,Emeline Maisonneuve,Louis Marcellin,Stéphane Marret,Nicolas Mottet,S. Paysant,Didier Riethmuller,Patrick Rozenberg,Thomas Schmitz,Héloïse Torchin,Bruno Langer +22 more
TL;DR: In France, 60,000 neonates are born preterm every year, half of them after the spontaneous onset of labor, and tocolytics are not associated with a reduction in neonatal mortality or morbidity and maternal severe adverse effects may occur with all to colytics.
