Journal ArticleDOI

Formation and evolution of the local interstellar environment: combined constraints from nucleosynthetic and X-ray data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used an N$-body+hydrodynamics simulation of a Milky-Way-like galaxy to identify stars on Sun-like orbits whose environments would produce conditions consistent with those observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

On Pressure Gradients and Rapid Migration of Solids in an Inhomogeneous Solar Nebula

TL;DR: In this paper, the motions of small solids, ranging from micron-sized dust grains to 100m objects, in the vicinity of a local density enhancement of an isothermal gaseous solar nebula were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Search for Exozodiacal Clouds with Kepler

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the first search for these resonant structures in the inner regions of planetary systems by analyzing the light curves of hot Jupiter planetary candidates identified by the Kepler mission and find that at the 90% confidence level, less than 21% of Kepler hot Jupiters create resonant dust clumps that lead and trail the planet by ~90 degrees with optical depths > 5*10^-6.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protoearth mass shedding and the origin of the moon

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the dynamical phenomenon of mass shedding on the basis of numerical models for a self-gravitating, axisymmetric, polytropic and dissipative protoearth.
