Subarachnoid contrast extravasation after intravenous and intra-arterial reperfusion therapy
TL;DR: A 63-year-old woman presented with acute hemiparesis from right middle cerebral artery occlusion and after IV tissue plasminogen activator and intra-arterial treatment with Merci retriever, balloon angioplasty, and urokinase, CT demonstrated diffuse subarachnoid hyperdensity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abstract 96: Assessment of the Rapid Arterial oCclusion Evaluation (RACE) Scale in Real-World Practice for Prediction of Large Vessel Occlusion and Reducing Time to Thrombectomy
Brijesh Mehta,Ashutosh P Jadhav,Joy Sessa,Randy H. Katz,Hoang Duong,Andrey Lima,Gina DiMartini,Lakota Woodall,Peter Antevy,Ryan A McTaggart,Ronil V. Chandra,Thabele M Leslie-Mazwi,Joshua A Hirsch,Albert J Yoo,Tudor G Jovin,Raul G Nogueira +15 more
TL;DR: Pre-hospital identification of potential large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke patients may lead to faster triage and treatment, and whether the RACE scale can be reliably implemeable is examined.

TL;DR: This study focused on the use of 3D image analysis to characterize the response of the central nervous system to treatment-triggered Stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI
O-001 Pre-treatment CTA ASPECTS as a predictor of clinical outcome in endovascular stroke therapy (EVT): results from the penumbra START trial
Donald Frei,Albert J Yoo,Donald V. Heck,Frank R Hellinger,V McCollom,David Fiorella,Aquilla S Turk,Tim W. Malisch,O. O. Zaidat,Matthew D Alexander,Thomas Devlin,Elad I. Levy,Qaisar A. TL;DR: Higher pre-treatment ASPECTS on CTA source images are associated with better outcomes following EVT, and Comparative studies with NCCT ASPECts are required to evaluate relative accuracy for patient selection.

Abstract TP290: Glyburide Reduces Cytotoxic Edema within the Cerebral Peduncles in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Brian L. Edlow,Ona Wu,Aneesh B. Singhal,Zeshan A. Chaudhry,Albert J Yoo,Barney J. Stern,Kevin N Sheth,W. T Kimberly +7 more
TL;DR: Higher CP ADC ratios reflect a reduction of cytotoxic edema within CST axons at the level of the CP, consistent with RP-1127’s proposed mechanism of preventing cellular edema.
