Vazquez,Oscar Ruiz Moreno,Fernando Jiménez-Zorzo,Javier Manero,Santiago Muñoz Fernández,Javier Rueda-Gotor,Miguel A. González-Gay +52 more
TL;DR: Anti-TNF-α therapy is effective and relatively safe in refractory BD uveitis and the best-corrected visual acuity and the suppression load also showed significant improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-TNF-α therapy in refractory uveitis associated with sarcoidosis: Multicenter study of 17 patients.
Leyre Riancho-Zarrabeitia,Vanesa Calvo-Río,Ricardo Blanco,Marina Mesquida,Alfredo Adán,José M. Herreras,Angel Garcia Aparicio,Diana Peiteado-Lopez,Miguel Cordero-Coma,José Luis García Serrano,Norberto Ortego-Centeno,O. Maíz,Ana Blanco,Juan Sánchez-Bursón,Senén González-Suárez,Alejandro Fonollosa,Montserrat Santos-Gómez,Carmen González-Vela,Javier Loricera,Trinitario Pina,Miguel A. González-Gay +20 more
TL;DR: Anti-TNF-α therapy is effective in sarcoid uveitis patients refractory to conventional immunosuppressive therapy and a substantial reduction in prednisone dose despite having failed standard therapy is observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functionally distinct ERAP1 and ERAP2 are a hallmark of HLA-A29-(Birdshot) Uveitis
Jonas J.W. Kuiper,Jessica van Setten,Matthew Devall,Mircea Cretu-Stancu,Sanne Hiddingh,Roel A. Ophoff,Roel A. Ophoff,Roel A. Ophoff,Tom Missotten,Mirjam E J van Velthoven,Anneke I den Hollander,Carel B. Hoyng,Eddie A. James,Emma Reeves,Miguel Cordero-Coma,Alejandro Fonollosa,Alfredo Adán,Javier Martin,Bobby P. C. Koeleman,Joke H. de Boer,Sara L. Pulit,Sara L. Pulit,Ana Márquez,Timothy R D J Radstake +23 more
TL;DR: A functionally distinct combination of ERAP1 and ERAP2 are a hallmark of Bird shot and provide rationale for strategies designed to correct ERAP function for treatment of Birdshot and MHC‐I‐opathies more broadly.
Journal ArticleDOI
New insights into the genetic component of non-infectious uveitis through an Immunochip strategy.
Ana Márquez,Miguel Cordero-Coma,José Manuel Martín-Villa,Marina Begoña Gorroño-Echebarría,Ricardo Blanco,David Díaz Valle,María José del Rio,Ana Blanco,Jose Luis Olea,Yolanda Cordero,María José Capella,Manuel Díaz-Llopis,Norberto Ortego-Centeno,Ioana Ruiz-Arruza,Victor Llorenç,Alfredo Adán,Alejandro Fonollosa,Josianne C E M ten Berge,Denize Atan,Andrew D. Dick,Joke H. de Boer,Jonas J.W. Kuiper,Aniki Rothova,Javier Martín +23 more
TL;DR: The association between the HLA region and non-infectious non-anterior uveitis is further interrogated and a new non-HLA susceptibility factor is identified and proposed additional risk loci with putative roles in this complex condition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug Retention Rate and Causes of Discontinuation of Adalimumab in Uveitis: Real-World Data from the Biotherapies in Uveitis (BioÚvea) Study Group
Victor Llorenç,Miguel Cordero-Coma,Ana Blanco-Esteban,Henar Heras-Mulero,María-José Losada-Castillo,Vega Jovani-Casano,Elia Valls-Pascual,Margarita Jodar-Marquez,Ángel García-Aparicio,Alejandro Fonollosa,Juan Jacobo González-Guijarro,Luís Rodriguez-Melian,M. Fernandez-Prada,María Jerez-Fidalgo,Marisa Hernández-Garfella,Cristina Esquinas,Maite Sainz-de-la-Maza,Alfredo Adán +17 more
TL;DR: Starting ADA in nonbiotherapy-naive patients was a predictor for "discontinuation due to inefficacy," whereas undifferentiated uveitis was a Predictor for " Discontinuations due to adverse event." drug retention time was significantly shorter when spared or intensified, mainly due to discontinuation after sustained quiescence.
