Journal ArticleDOI
Quantification of Obstructive and Nonobstructive Coronary Lesions by 64-Slice Computed Tomography: A Comparative Study With Quantitative Coronary Angiography and Intravascular Ultrasound
Alexander W Leber,Andreas Knez,Franz von Ziegler,Alexander Becker,Konstantin Nikolaou,Stephan Paul,Bernd J. Wintersperger,Maximilian F. Reiser,Christoph R. Becker,Gerhard Steinbeck,Peter Boekstegers +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the diagnostic accuracy of 64-slice computed tomography (CT) to identify and quantify atherosclerotic coronary lesions in comparison with catheter-based angiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of 64-slice computed tomography to classify and quantify plaque volumes in the proximal coronary system: a comparative study using intravascular ultrasound.
Alexander W Leber,Alexander Becker,Andreas Knez,Franz von Ziegler,Marc Sirol,Konstantin Nikolaou,Bernd Ohnesorge,Zahi A. Fayad,Christoph R. Becker,Maximilian F. Reiser,Gerhard Steinbeck,Peter Boekstegers +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that 64-slice CT reveals encouraging results to noninvasively detect different types of coronary plaques located in the proximal coronary system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of multidetector spiral computed tomography in identifying and differentiating the composition of coronary atherosclerotic plaques. A comparative study with intracoronary ultrasound
Alexander W Leber,Andreas Knez,Alexander Becker,Christoph R. Becker,Franz von Ziegler,Konstantin Nikolaou,Carsten Rist,Maximilian F. Reiser,Carl W. White,Gerhard Steinbeck,Peter Boekstegers +10 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that, in the case of diagnostic image quality, contrast-enhanced MDCT permits an accurate identification of coronary plaques and that computed tomography density values measured within plaques reflect echogenity and plaque composition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of coronary calcification and angiographically documented stenoses in patients with suspected coronary artery disease: results of 1,764 patients.
Ralph Haberl,Alexander Becker,Alexander W Leber,Andreas Knez,Christoph R. Becker,Christine Lang,Roland Brüning,T. Maximilian Reiser,Gerhard Steinbeck +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the electron beam computed tomographic (EBCT) calcium scores with the results of coronary angiography in symptomatic patients in order to assess its value to predict or exclude significant coronary artery disease (CAD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemerin is associated with markers of inflammation and components of the metabolic syndrome but does not predict coronary atherosclerosis
Michael Lehrke,Alexander Becker,Martin Greif,Renee Stark,Rüdiger P. Laubender,Franz von Ziegler,Corinna Lebherz,Janine Tittus,Maximilian F. Reiser,Christoph Becker,Burkhard Göke,Alexander W Leber,Klaus G. Parhofer,Uli C. Broedl +13 more
TL;DR: Chemerin is strongly associated with markers of inflammation and components of the metabolic syndrome, however, chemerin does not predict coronary atherosclerosis.
