Antitrypanosomal Activity & Docking Studies of Components of Crateva adansonii DC Leaves: Novel Multifunctional Scaffolds
Ngozichukwuka P. Igoli,Carol Clements,Rajeev K Singla,John O. Igoli,Nzekwe Uche Uche,Alexander I. Gray +5 more
TL;DR: These phytoconstituents were tested to identify the proteins targeted and the mode of activity employed and their affinity towards the receptor sites of trypanothione reductase, riboflavin kinase, rohedsain, glutathione synthetase & sterol-14α-demethylase of Trypanosoma brucei were evaluated according to the resulting docking energies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Terpenoid and alkaloid compounds from the seeds of Monodora brevipes
TL;DR: The seeds of Monodora brevipes have yielded five known compounds, crotsparine and stepharine, 3-formylindole, the sesquiterpene (−)-α-cadinol and the monoterpene 1α,6β-dihydroxy-4α-β-menth-2-ene, and three novel clerodane diterpenes as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pyranocoumarins as chemotaxonomic markers in Eriostemon coccineus and Philotheca citrina
TL;DR: Examination of the aerial parts of Eriostemon coccineus and Philotheca citrina has shown both to contain the unusual pyranocoumarinsAvicennol, avicennin and cis -avicenno, which supports the contention that Philothecas is closely allied to certain taxa currently placed in ERIostemon sect.
Journal ArticleDOI
ent-12-Oxolabda-8,13(16)-dien-15-oic acid and ent-8β,12α-epidioxy-12β-hydroxylabda-9(11),13-dien-15-oic acid γ-lactone : two new diterpenes from the aerial parts of Premna oligotricha
Solomon Habtemariam,Alexander I. Gray,Catherine Lavaud,Georges Massiot,Brian W. Skelton,Peter G. Waterman,Allan H. White +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, ent-labdane diterpenes have been isolated from the aerial parts of Premna oligotricha (Verbenaceae) through NMR studies, one was identified as ent-12-oxolabda-8,3(16)dien-15-oic acid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detalolactone: A novel pyranocoumarin from the root bark of Zanthoxylum dipetalum
TL;DR: A new pyranocoumarin, dipetalolactone, has been isolated from the root bark of Zanthoxylum Dipetalum and its structure proven by the synthesis of tetrahydrodipetaliolactone.
