Compression and aggregation-resistant particles of crumpled soft sheets.
Jiayan Luo,Hee Dong Jang,Tao Sun,Li Xiao,Zhen He,Alexandros P. Katsoulidis,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,J. Murray Gibson,J. Murray Gibson,Jiaxing Huang +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that microbial fuel electrodes modified by the crumpled particles indeed outperform those modified with their flat counterparts, and should greatly benefit applications using bulk quantities of graphene, such as in energy storage or conversion devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phloroglucinol based microporous polymeric organic frameworks with-OH functional groups and high CO2 capture capacity
TL;DR: In this article, a new family of microporous polymeric organic frameworks (POF) is described, assembled from phlorglucinol (1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene) and several benzaldehyde derivatives under solvothe...
Journal ArticleDOI
Imine-Linked Microporous Polymer Organic Frameworks
Prativa Pandey,Alexandros P. Katsoulidis,Ibrahim Eryazici,Yuyang Wu,Mercouri G. Kanatzidis,SonBinh T. Nguyen +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a facile, one-pot approach results in quantitative yields of POFs with the flexibility to incorporate several functional groups in their pores for tuning the interaction of their surface with different guest molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemical control of structure and guest uptake by a conformationally mobile porous material
Alexandros P. Katsoulidis,Dmytro Antypov,George F. S. Whitehead,Elliot J. Carrington,Dave J. Adams,Dave J. Adams,Neil G. Berry,George R. Darling,Matthew S. Dyer,Matthew J. Rosseinsky +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that rotation about covalent bonds in a peptide linker can change a flexible MOF to afford nine distinct crystal structures, revealing a conformational energy landscape that is characterized by multiple structural minima.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transesterification of soybean frying oil to biodiesel using heterogeneous catalysts
TL;DR: In this paper, the transesterification reaction of soybean frying oil with methanol, in the presence of different heterogeneous catalysts (Mg MCM-41, Mg-Al Hydrotalcite, and K + impregnated zirconia), using low frequency ultrasonication (24kHz) and mechanical stirring (600rpm) for the production of biodiesel fuel was studied.
