Journal ArticleDOI
Controllability of structural brain networks.
Shi Gu,Fabio Pasqualetti,Matthew Cieslak,Qawi K. Telesford,Alfred B. Yu,Ari E. Kahn,John D. Medaglia,Jean M. Vettel,Jean M. Vettel,Michael B. Miller,Scott T. Grafton,Danielle S. Bassett +11 more
TL;DR: Tools from control and network theories are used to offer a mechanistic explanation for how the brain moves between cognitive states drawn from the network organization of white matter microstructure and suggest that densely connected areas facilitate the movement of the brain to many easily reachable states.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modified Pfirrmann grading system for lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration.
James F. Griffith,Yi-Xiang J. Wang,Gregory E. Antonio,Kai Chow Choi,Alfred B. Yu,Anil T. Ahuja,Ping-Chung Leung +6 more
TL;DR: The modified Pfirrmann grading system is useful at discriminating severity of disc degeneration in elderly subjects and can be applied with good intra- and interobserver agreement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence, pattern, and spectrum of glenoid bone loss in anterior shoulder dislocation: CT analysis of 218 patients.
James F. Griffith,Gregory E. Antonio,Patrick Shu-Hang Yung,Eric M. C. Wong,Alfred B. Yu,Anil T. Ahuja,Kai-Ming Chan +6 more
TL;DR: Glenoid bone loss is common in anterior shoulder dislocation, probably multifactorial in origin, is usually mild in degree, and has a maximum observed severity of -33%.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-time shoulder dislocation: High prevalence of labral injury and age-related differences revealed by MR arthrography.
Gregory E. Antonio,James F. Griffith,Alfred B. Yu,Patrick Shu-Hang Yung,Kai-Ming Chan,Anil T. Ahuja +5 more
TL;DR: To evaluate abnormalities and age‐related differences after first‐time shoulder dislocation, a large number of patients with prior shoulder injuries were diagnosed with at least one type of shoulder injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tragus or cymba conchae? Investigating the anatomical foundation of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS).
Bashar W. Badran,Joshua C. Brown,Logan T. Dowdle,Oliver J. Mithoefer,Nicholas T. LaBate,James Coatsworth,William H. DeVries,Christopher W. Austelle,Lisa M. McTeague,Alfred B. Yu,Marom Bikson,Dorothea Jenkins,Mark S. George +12 more
TL;DR: This research highlights the need to understand more fully the role of emotion in the development of central nervous system disorders and the role that emotion plays in the decision-making process.
