Journal ArticleDOI
The neural signature of numerosity by separating numerical and continuous magnitude extraction in visual cortex with frequency-tagged EEG.
Amandine Van Rinsveld,Mathieu Guillaume,Peter J. Kohler,Peter J. Kohler,Christine Schiltz,Wim Gevers +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that when numerosity and the other dimensions are totally decorrelated in stimulus sequences, changes of each are automatically discriminated in early visual cortex, highlighting the status of numerosity as a primary visual feature.
Journal ArticleDOI
The relation between language and arithmetic in bilinguals: insights from different stages of language acquisition.
TL;DR: Analysis of how proficiency in two languages interacts with arithmetic problem solving throughout language acquisition in adolescents and young adults in a German–French educational bilingual setting confirmed that language proficiency is crucial especially for complex addition computation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early Adolescent Substance Use Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Longitudinal Survey in the ABCD Study Cohort.
William E. Pelham,Susan F. Tapert,Marybel Robledo Gonzalez,Connor J. McCabe,Krista M. Lisdahl,Elisabet Alzueta,Fiona C. Baker,Florence J. Breslin,Anthony Steven Dick,Gayathri J. Dowling,Mathieu Guillaume,Elizabeth A. Hoffman,Andrew T. Marshall,Andrew T. Marshall,Bruce D. McCandliss,Chandni Sheth,Elizabeth R. Sowell,Elizabeth R. Sowell,Wesley K. Thompson,Amandine Van Rinsveld,Natasha E. Wade,Sandra A. Brown +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated changes in early adolescent substance use during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic using a prospective, longitudinal, nationwide cohort.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solving arithmetic problems in first and second language: Does the language context matter?
TL;DR: This article investigated the role of the language context in arithmetic problem solving and found that providing a language context enhanced arithmetic performances in bilinguals' second instruction language. But no effect of the context was observed in the German session.
Journal ArticleDOI
Longitudinal Impact of Childhood Adversity on Early Adolescent Mental Health During the COVID-19 Pandemic in the ABCD Study® Cohort: Does Race or Ethnicity Moderate Findings?
Elizabeth A Stinson,Ryan M Sullivan,Bridgette Peteet,Susan F. Tapert,Fiona C. Baker,Florence J. Breslin,Anthony Steven Dick,Marybel Robledo Gonzalez,Mathieu Guillaume,Andrew T. Marshall,Andrew T. Marshall,Connor J. McCabe,William E. Pelham,Amandine Van Rinsveld,Chandni Sheth,Elizabeth R. Sowell,Elizabeth R. Sowell,Natasha E. Wade,Alexander L Wallace,Krista M. Lisdahl +19 more
TL;DR: Stinson et al. as mentioned in this paper examined whether exposure to pre-pandemic adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) predicts mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic in youth and whether racial-ethnic background moderated these effects.
