Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of pyrolysis temperature on chemical form, behavior and environmental risk of Zn, Pb and Cd in biochar produced from phytoremediation residue.
Hui Huang,Wenlin Yao,Ronghua Li,Amjad Ali,Juan Du,Di Guo,Ran Xiao,Zhanyu Guo,Zengqiang Zhang,Mukesh Kumar Awasthi +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that pyrolysis temperature above 550°C may be suitable for thermal treatment of PMR with acceptable environmental risk and lower risk assessment code and potential ecological risk index.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation of biosynthetic crystals by microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation and their utilization for fluoride removal from groundwater
TL;DR: Adsorption thermodynamic parameters indicated a spontaneous, endothermic and thermodynamically favorable adsorption process, which can cope with the problem of applying the external organic substances in MICP, and avoid the microbial safety risk in the effluent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bone-derived biochar improved soil quality and reduced Cd and Zn phytoavailability in a multi-metal contaminated mining soil.
Muhammad Azeem,Amjad Ali,Parimala Gnana Soundari Arockiam Jeyasundar,Yiman Li,Hamada Abdelrahman,Abdul Latif,Ronghua Li,Nicholas T. Basta,Gang Li,Sabry M. Shaheen,Sabry M. Shaheen,Sabry M. Shaheen,Jörg Rinklebe,Zenqqiang Zhang +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, cow bones were used as biochar feedstock and pyrolyzed at 500°C and 800°C (CBH) and two biochars were applied to a mine contaminated soil at 0 (control), 2.5, 5, 10 and 10 dosages; then, the soils were incubated and cultivated by maize in the greenhouse.
Journal ArticleDOI
Denitrification performance and mechanism of a novel isolated Acinetobacter sp. FYF8 in oligotrophic ecosystem.
TL;DR: Findings indicated that the denitrification strategy of strain FYF8 was related to EPS, which might be a reserve carbon storage in carbon scarcity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization and mechanism of Mn(II)-based mixotrophic denitrifying bacterium (Cupriavidus sp. HY129) in remediation of nitrate (NO3--N) and manganese (Mn(II)) contaminated groundwater.
TL;DR: Characterization of biogenicManganese oxides (BMO) confirmed the formation of high-valent manganese and the trapping experiment with sodium pyrophosphate (NaPP) demonstrated the existence of Mn(III)-intermediates.
