Journal ArticleDOI

Biological behavior of different Trypanosoma cruzi isolates circulating in an endemic area for Chagas disease in the Gran Chaco region of Argentina.

TL;DR: This work shows differential biological behavior among different parasite isolates obtained from the same cycle of transmission, permitting the opportunity to formulate future hypotheses of clinical and epidemiological importance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Epidemiology of American Tegumentary Leishmaniasis and Trypanosoma cruzi Infection in the Northwestern Argentina

TL;DR: The endemic pattern of TL seems to involve exposure of patients to vectors in wild as well as peridomestic environment, and a careful epidemiological surveillance is necessary due to the contraindication of antimonial administration to chagasic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preponderant clonal evolution of Trypanosoma cruzi I from Argentinean Chaco revealed by Multilocus Sequence Typing (MLST).

TL;DR: The population structure of TcI from a restricted geographical area in the Chaco region, Argentina is analyzed using a Multilocus Sequence Typing (MLST) approach and shows evidence of PCE in T. cruzi lineage I from the study area.
