Journal ArticleDOI
Logistics of collecting patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in clinical practice: an overview and practical examples
Matthias Rose,Andrea Bezjak +1 more
TL;DR: Methodological and logistical issues determine the resources needed for a successful integration of PRO measures into daily work flow procedures and influence significantly the usefulness of PRO data for clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized phase III trial of single versus fractionated thoracic radiation in the palliation of patients with lung cancer (NCIC CTG SC.15).
Andrea Bezjak,P. Dixon,Michael Brundage,Dong Sheng Tu,Michael J. Palmer,P. Blood,Clive Grafton,Catherine A. Lochrin,Carson Leong,Liam Mulroy,Colum Smith,James G. Wright,Joseph L. Pater +12 more
TL;DR: Although the two treatment strategies provided a similar degree of palliation of thoracic symptoms, the difference in survival between the two study arms was of a clinically relevant magnitude.
Journal ArticleDOI
Definitive and Adjuvant Radiotherapy in Locally Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer: American Society of Clinical Oncology Clinical Practice Guideline Endorsement of the American Society for Radiation Oncology Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline
Andrea Bezjak,Sarah Temin,Gregg E. Franklin,Giuseppe Giaccone,Ramaswamy Govindan,Melissa Lynne Johnson,Andreas Rimner,Bryan J. Schneider,John R. Strawn,Christopher G. Azzoli +9 more
TL;DR: Current data fail to support a clear role for consolidation therapy after chemoradiotherapy; however, consolidation therapy remains an option for patients who did not receive full systemic chemotherapy doses during radiotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality of life, mucositis, and xerostomia from radiotherapy for head and neck cancers: a report from the NCIC CTG HN2 randomized trial of an antimicrobial lozenge to prevent mucositis.
Graeme Duncan,Joel B. Epstein,Dongsheng Tu,Samy El Sayed,Andrea Bezjak,Jon Ottaway,Joe Pater +6 more
TL;DR: The National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group undertook a multicenter, randomized, double‐blind controlled trial of an oral antimicrobial versus placebo to prevent and treat mucositis, and the quality of life (QOL) analysis is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality of Life in a Randomized Trial of Group Psychosocial Support in Metastatic Breast Cancer: Overall Effects of the Intervention and an Exploration of Missing Data
Louise Bordeleau,John Paul Szalai,Marguerite Ennis,Molyn Leszcz,Michael Speca,Rami Sela,Richard Doll,Harvey M. Chochinov,Margaret Navarro,Andrew Arnold,Kathleen I. Pritchard,Andrea Bezjak,Hilary A. Llewellyn-Thomas,Carol Sawka,Pamela J. Goodwin +14 more
TL;DR: Supportive-expressive group therapy in patients with metastatic breast cancer does not appear to influence HrQOL, as measured by the EORTC QLQ-C30, and primary analysis of all subscales failed to show a significant influence of the intervention.
