Journal ArticleDOI
Charge-transfer crystallites as molecular electrical dopants
H. Méndez,Georg Heimel,Stefanie Winkler,Stefanie Winkler,Johannes Frisch,Johannes Frisch,Andreas Opitz,Katrein Sauer,Berthold Wegner,Martin Oehzelt,Martin Oehzelt,Christian Röthel,Steffen Duhm,Daniel M. Többens,Norbert Koch,Norbert Koch,Norbert Koch,Ingo Salzmann +17 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that fundamentally different processes can occur in the two types of organic semiconductors instead of ground-state integer charge transfer as the basic mechanism of molecular electrical doping in both, conjugated polymers and oligomers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Doping of Organic Semiconductors: Impact of Dopant Strength and Electronic Coupling
H. Méndez,Georg Heimel,Andreas Opitz,Katrein Sauer,Patrick Barkowski,Martin Oehzelt,Martin Oehzelt,Junshi Soeda,Toshihiro Okamoto,Jun Takeya,Jean-Baptiste Arlin,Jean-Yves Balandier,Yves Geerts,Norbert Koch,Norbert Koch,Ingo Salzmann +15 more
TL;DR: By systematically varying the acceptor strength it was possible to discriminate the two models of molecular doping, suggesting strategies for the chemical design of more efficient molecular dopants.
Journal ArticleDOI
High Fill Factor and Open Circuit Voltage in Organic Photovoltaic Cells with Diindenoperylene as Donor Material
Julia Wagner,Mark Gruber,Alexander Hinderhofer,Andreas Wilke,Benjamin Bröker,Johannes Frisch,Patrick Amsalem,Antje Vollmer,Andreas Opitz,Norbert Koch,Frank Schreiber,Wolfgang Brütting +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, small-molecule photovoltaic cells using diindenoperylene (DIP) as a new donor material in combination with the fullerene C 60 as an electron acceptor are demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-mobility copper-phthalocyanine field-effect transistors with tetratetracontane passivation layer and organic metal contacts
Michael Kraus,Stefan Richler,Andreas Opitz,Wolfgang Brütting,Simon Haas,Tatsuo Hasegawa,Alexander Hinderhofer,Frank Schreiber +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the long-chain alkane tetratetracontane (TTC) was used as a passivation layer on top of silicon dioxide for charge transfer in organic field-effect transistors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of different origins for s-shaped current voltage characteristics in planar heterojunction organic solar cells
Julia Wagner,Mark Gruber,Andreas Wilke,Yuya Tanaka,Katharina Topczak,Andreas Steindamm,Ulrich Hörmann,Andreas Opitz,Yasuo Nakayama,Hisao Ishii,Jens Pflaum,Norbert Koch,Wolfgang Brütting +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated different parameters influencing the occurrence of s-shaped current voltage (j-V) characteristics in planar heterojunction organic solar cells and found that the main effect of substrate heating during film growth can be assigned to changes in energy barriers rather than to the modification of morphology and crystallinity, which is also influenced by elevated substrate temperatures.
