Journal ArticleDOI
A New Macho Search Strategy
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a search strategy for massive compact objects (Machos) toward the Galactic bulge, which monitors the entire 300$ square deg of the bulge and tunes the search primarily to microlensing events of bright stars.
Journal ArticleDOI
The beat Cepheids in the Magellanic Clouds: an analysis from the EROS-2 database
J. B. Marquette,Jean-Philippe Beaulieu,J. R. Buchler,R. Szabó,P. Tisserand,P. Tisserand,S. Belghith,Pascal Fouqué,E. Lesquoy,E. Lesquoy,A. Milsztajn,A. Schwarzenberg-Czerny,C. Afonso,C. Afonso,J. N. Rich,Michel Spiro,Alfred Vidal-Madjar +45 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the EROS-2 survey of the Magellanic Clouds to detect and study the population of beat Cepheids (BCs) in both clouds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Femtolens imaging of a quasar central engine using a dwarf star telescope
TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that it is possible to image the structure of a distant quasar on scales of 1 AU by constructing a telescope that uses a nearby dwarf star as its "primary lens" together with a satellite-borne "secondary" lens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Limits on Unresolved Planetary Companions to White Dwarf Remnants of 14 Intermediate-Mass Stars
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present Spitzer IRAC photometry of white dwarf remnants of 14 stars with M = 3-5 Msol for unresolved companions, based on the Burrows et al. (2003) substellar cooling models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic Analysis of 22 Microlensing Parallax Candidates
Shawn Poindexter,Cristina Afonso,David P. Bennett,J. F. Glicenstein,Andrew Gould,Michał K. Szymański,Andrzej Udalski +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a procedure to identify three types of discrete degeneracies (including a new one that was dubbed the ''ecliptic degeneracy'') and find many new degenerate solutions in 16 previously published and 6 unpublished microlensing parallax events was presented.
