Journal ArticleDOI
Theoretical estimation for correlations of diffraction patterns from objects differently oriented in space
TL;DR: Here the classification in the framework of pattern-to-pattern correlations is approached, and theoretically the correlations between diffraction images of differently oriented objects are analysed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conditional wave theory of environmental interactions with a quantum particle
TL;DR: In this article, a Conditional Wave Theory of collisional quantum decoherence is presented, which reproduces the behavior of the Joos-Zeh master equation via a Schrodinger-like equation with a time-dependent logarithmic nonlinearity.
Journal ArticleDOI
The phase and inversion problem for multiply scattered electrons
Leslie J. Allen,Andrew V. Martin +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the inversion of scattering data to obtain the structure of a thin specimen illuminated by electrons is discussed, and two aspects, the reconstruction of one or more exit surface wave functions and the subsequent retrieval of the projected structure of the specimen are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward atomic resolution diffractive imaging of isolated molecules with x-ray free-electron lasers

White,Henrik Stapelfeldt,Daniel Rolles,Henry N. Chapman,Jochen Küpper +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed account of the theoretical analysis and experimental results of an x-ray diffraction experiment on quantum-state selected and strongly laser-aligned gas-phase ensembles of the prototypical large asymmetric rotor molecule 2,5-diiodobenzonitrile, performed at the Linac Coherent Light Source, is given.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Low-resolution reconstruction of intensity functions on the sphere for single-particle diffraction imaging
TL;DR: This paper takes advantage of the symmetries of the intensity function to propose an original low-resolution reconstruction algorithm based on an Expansion Maximization Compression (EMC) approach and studies the problem of adequate sampling of the rotation group via simulation to illustrate the potential of the approach.
