Journal ArticleDOI
The Sensitivity of the Pair-Angle Distribution Function to Protein Structure
TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between the PADF and protein conformation was explored for model systems exhibiting increasing degrees of order and secondary structural complexity, from disordered polypeptides, single alpha helices, helix bundles and finally a folded 100 kilodalton protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrafast dynamics and scattering of protic ionic liquids induced by XFEL pulses
Kajwal Kumar Patra,Ibrahim Eliah Dawod,Andrew V. Martin,Tamar L. Greaves,Daniel H. E. Persson,Carl Caleman,Nicusor Timneanu +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of classical molecular dynamics and plasma simulation on a protic ionic liquid is used to quantify the contributions to the scattering signal and how these evolve with time during the X-ray laser pulse.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Probing homogenous ice nucleation within supercooled bulk water droplet in "no man's land" with an ultrafast X-ray laser
Hartawan Laksmono,Trevor A. McQueen,Jonas A. Sellberg,Congcong Huang,N. Duane Loh,Raymond G. Sierra,Dmitri Starodub,Dennis Norlund,Martin Beye,Daniel P. DePonte,Andrew V. Martin,Anton Barty,Jan M. Feldkamp,Sébastien Boutet,Garth J. Williams,Michael J. Bogan,Anders Nilsson +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed experimental study of liquid to ice phase transition of bulk water in "no man's land" and discussed the nucleation kinetics and the resulting phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recovery of undamaged electron-density maps in the presence of damage-induced partial coherence in single-particle imaging.
Alexander Kozlov,Timur E. Gureyev,David M. Paganin,Andrew V. Martin,Andrew V. Martin,Carl Caleman,Harry M. Quiney +6 more
TL;DR: While partial coherence, induced by radiation damage, poses a challenge for phase retrieval, it is demonstrated that additional coherent modes enable suppression of the effect of radiation damage in the reconstructed sample electron density.
ComponentDOI
