Aqueous fluids and hydrous melts in high-pressure and ultra-high pressure rocks: Implications for element transfer in subduction zones
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that in diamond-bearing, high-temperature UHP rocks from the Kokchetav Massif there are not only hydrous felsic melts, but probably also carbonate and sulfide melts present.
Journal ArticleDOI
Silicate and carbonate melt inclusions associated with diamonds in deeply subducted carbonate rocks
Andrey V. Korsakov,Jörg Hermann +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the trace element composition of such carbonate inclusions is enriched in Ba and light rare earth elements and depleted in heavy rare earth element with respect to the matrix carbonates providing further evidence that the inclusions represent trapped carbonate melt.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geochemistry of ultrahigh-pressure anatexis: fractionation of elements in the Kokchetav gneisses during melting at diamond-facies conditions
Aleksandr S. Stepanov,Aleksandr S. Stepanov,Joerg Hermann,Andrey V. Korsakov,Daniela Rubatto +4 more
TL;DR: The Kokchetav complex in Kazakhstan contains garnet-bearing gneisses that formed by partial melting of metasedimentary rocks at ultra-high-pressure (UHP) conditions as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the occurrence and boron isotopic composition of tourmaline in (ultra)high-pressure metamorphic rocks
TL;DR: In this article, the occurrence, major element chemistry and boron isotopic composition of tourmaline (Tur) in high and ultra-high pressure metamorphic (UHPM) rocks are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alkali-carbonate melts from the base of cratonic lithospheric mantle: Links to kimberlites
Alexander V. Golovin,Igor S. Sharygin,Vadim S. Kamenetsky,Andrey V. Korsakov,Gregory M. Yaxley +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, snapshots of the melts preserved in sheared peridotite xenoliths from the Udachnaya-East kimberlite pipe, in the central part of the Siberian craton, were reported.
