Book ChapterDOI

Thymus-independent T-cell differentiation in vitro.

TL;DR: The mononuclear cells of human cord blood contain a cell population that supports the differentiation of CD34+ cells into CD4+ or CD8+ naive T cells in serum‐deprived cultures stimulated with stem cell factor and interleukin 7.
Journal ArticleDOI

P-Selectin sustains extramedullary hematopoiesis in the Gata1 low model of myelofibrosis

TL;DR: De deleting the P-sel gene in the myelofibrosis mouse model carrying the hypomorphic Gata1 low mutation that induces megakaryocyte abnormalities that recapitulate those observed in PMF may mediate the pathological cell interactions that increase TGF-β content in MK and favor establishment of a microenvironment that supports myel ofibrosis-related HSC in spleen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for Organ-Specific Stem Cell Microenvironments

TL;DR: In the absence of the spleen, Gata1low hematopoiesis is supported by the liver suggesting that treatment of myelofibrosis in these animals requires the rescue of both stem cell and microenvironmental functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of Thrombopoietin in Mast Cell Differentiation

TL;DR: It is described that thrombopoietin, the ligand for the Mpl receptor, in addition to its pivotal rule in the control ofThrombocytopoiesis and of hematoietic stem/progenitor cell proliferation, exerts a regulatory function in mast cell differentiation.
