Journal ArticleDOI
GATA4 haploinsufficiency in patients with interstitial deletion of chromosome region 8p23.1 and congenital heart disease
Tugce Pehlivan,Barbara R. Pober,Martina Brueckner,Stacey Garrett,Rachel Slaugh,Richard Van Rheeden,David B. Wilson,Michael S. Watson,Anne Hing +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that haploinsufficiency at the GATA4 locus is often seen in patients with del(8)(p23.1) and congenital heart disease, and postulate that GATA-4 deficiency may contribute to the phenotype of patients with monosomy of 8p 23.1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chromosome abnormalities in congenital heart disease.
TL;DR: It is concluded that chromosome analysis should be considered in patients with certain cardiac defects, and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis of 22q11 is indicated in Patients with conotruncal defects or interrupted aortic arch.
Journal ArticleDOI
A physical and transcriptional map of the preaxial polydactyly locus on chromosome 7q36.
Henk C. Heus,Anne Hing,Marijke J. van Baren,Marijke Joosse,Guido J. Breedveld,J. C. Wang,Andrea K. Burgess,Helen Donnis-Keller,Cathleen Berglund,J. Zguricas,Stephen W. Scherer,Johanna M. Rommens,Ben A. Oostra,Peter Heutink +13 more
TL;DR: A detailed physical map of the preaxial polydactyly candidate region is constructed and the homeobox gene HLXB9, a putative receptor C7orf2, and two transcripts of unknown function map in the refined candidate region.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulse Oximetry in Methemoglobinemia
TL;DR: It is emphasized that pulse oximetry should not be used to estimate true oxygen saturation in the presence of methemoglobin, and therapy should be based on direct measurements of oxyhemoglobin by cooximetry and not on measurements of oxygen saturation by pulse oxIMetry or on saturations calculated from the Pao2 and the oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curve.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fetus in fetu: Molecular analysis of a fetiform mass
TL;DR: A case of fetus-in-fetu in a newborn female is reported including cytogenetic and molecular studies of both the host and mass.
