Journal ArticleDOI
Relation of vigorous exercise to risk of atrial fibrillation.
Anthony Aizer,Anthony Aizer,J. Michael Gaziano,Nancy R. Cook,Nancy R. Cook,JoAnn E. Manson,JoAnn E. Manson,Julie E. Buring,Christine M. Albert +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the association between frequency of vigorous exercise and risk of developing atrial fibrillation in 16,921 apparently healthy men in the Physicians' Health Study was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
The QT interval in patients with COVID-19 treated with hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.
Ehud Chorin,Matthew Dai,Eric Shulman,Lalit Wadhwani,Roi Bar-Cohen,Chirag R. Barbhaiya,Anthony Aizer,Douglas Holmes,Scott Bernstein,Michael Spinelli,David S. Park,Larry A. Chinitz,Lior Jankelson +12 more
TL;DR: In patients with COVID-19 who were treated with HY/AZ, the QTc was significantly prolonged, which suggests that QT prolongation may be influenced by patient attributes such as the presence of co-morbidities and the severity of the disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
QT interval prolongation and torsade de pointes in patients with COVID-19 treated with hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin.
Ehud Chorin,Lalit Wadhwani,Silvia Magnani,Matthew Dai,Eric Shulman,Charles Nadeau-Routhier,Robert Knotts,Roi Bar-Cohen,Edward Kogan,Chirag R. Barbhaiya,Anthony Aizer,Douglas Holmes,Scott Bernstein,Michael Spinelli,David S. Park,Stefano Carugo,Larry A. Chinitz,Lior Jankelosn +17 more
TL;DR: The combination of HY/AZ significantly prolongs the QTc in patients with COVID-19, which may be responsible for life threating arrhythmia in the form of TdP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mupirocin Prophylaxis to Prevent Staphylococcus aureus Infection in Patients Undergoing Dialysis: A Meta-analysis
Evelina Tacconelli,Yehuda Carmeli,Yehuda Carmeli,Anthony Aizer,Gabriela Ferreira,Marilyn G. Foreman,Erika M. C. D'Agata +6 more
TL;DR: A systematic review of the English-language literature was performed to determine the overall benefit of mupirocin therapy in reducing the rate of Staphylococcus aureus infection among patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD).
Mupirocin Prophylaxis to Prevent Staphylococcus aureus Infection in Patients Undergoing Dialysis
Evelina Tacconelli,Yehuda Carmeli,Anthony Aizer,Gabriela Ferreira,Marilyn G. Foreman,A. Wiener,Robert Wood Johnson +6 more
TL;DR: Mupirocin prophylaxis substantially reduces the rate of S. aureus infection in the dialysis population and optimal regimens that minimize the emergence of m upirocin resistance need to be explored.
