Tunable exciton binding energy in 2D hybrid layered perovskites through donor–acceptor interactions within the organic layer

TL;DR: Doping two-dimensional naphthalene-based lead halide perovskites with tetrachloro-1,2-benzoquinone has been shown to introduce donor–acceptor interactions within the organic network, without disrupting the inorganic sublattice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lock-Arm Supramolecular Ordering: A Molecular Construction Set for Cocrystallizing Organic Charge Transfer Complexes

TL;DR: The research reported here introduces an innovative design, termed LASO-lock-arm supramolecular ordering-in the form of a modular approach for the development of responsive organic cocrystals, which relies on the use of aromatic electronic donor and acceptor building blocks, carrying complementary rigid and flexible arms, capable of forming hydrogen bonds to amplify the cocrystallization processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and chemical stability in perovskite–polymer hybrid photovoltaic materials

TL;DR: In this article, structural and spectroscopic analysis in a number of perovskite-polymer hybrid materials and compare their stability was performed, showing that polymers tend to suppress the formation of a hydrate crystal phase that accelerates the degradation reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Semiconducting single crystals comprising segregated arrays of complexes of C60.

TL;DR: An extended viologen-based cyclophane—ExBox2(4+)—has been employed as a molecular receptor which, not only binds C60 one-on-one, but also results in the columnar self-assembly of the 1:1 inclusion complexes under ambient conditions.
