TL;DR: It is confirmed that considerable heterogeneity exists between LDL subfractions within individuals but, in addition, there are also marked--and apparently characteristic--differences in LDL composition amongst normal subjects and patients with hyperapobetalipoproteinemia or familial hypercholesterolemia.

TL;DR: In this article, arteriovenous (AV) differences for each patient were calculated and the LDL cholesterol AV difference was again confirmed and shown to be unrelated to heparin, which raises the possibility that LDL rather than high density lipoprotein transports cholesterol ester to the splanchnic bed.
