Actigraphy as a diagnostic aid for REM sleep behavior disorder in Parkinson's disease
TL;DR: PD patients with RBD showed a significantly higher number of bouts scored as “wake” using actigraphy, compared to patients without RBD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polymerase chain reaction and viral culture techniques to detect HSV in small volumes of cerebrospinal fluid; an experimental mouse encephalitis study.
R.H. Boerman,E.P.J. Arnoldus,A. K. Raap,Bastiaan R. Bloem,M. Verhey,G. W. Van Gemert,A. C. B. Peters,M. van der Ploeg +7 more
TL;DR: The results show the feasibility of the PCR for a rapid, non-invasive diagnosis of human HSV-encephalitis and the PCR to be superior over the other techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seeing ophthalmologic problems in Parkinson disease: Results of a visual impairment questionnaire
Carlijn D.J.M. Borm,Femke Visser,Mario Werkmann,Debbie de Graaf,Diana Putz,Klaus Seppi,Werner Poewe,Annemarie M. M. Vlaar,Carel B. Hoyng,Bastiaan R. Bloem,Thomas Theelen,Nienke M. de Vries +11 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis: prevention of recurrent thromboembolism.
TL;DR: Patients who have recovered from cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) are at risk for sustaining a recurrence of CVST or otherThrombotic events after CVST, and an important clinical question is whether recurrence in this group can be prevented.
Journal ArticleDOI
The possible price of auditory cueing: Influence on obstacle avoidance in Parkinson's disease
W. Nanhoe-Mahabier,Arnaud Delval,A.H. Snijders,Vivian Weerdesteyn,Sebastiaan Overeem,Bastiaan R. Bloem +5 more
TL;DR: Whether concurrent auditory cueing interferes with an obstacle avoidance task in patients with PD is examined and differences between patients with and without freezing of gait are studied.
