JunD/HBZ enhances HBZ enhances HTLV-1 antisense transcription

TL;DR: The results suggest that JunD represents a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of ATL and favor a model in which JunD is recruited to the promoter through Sp1, where it heterodimerizes with HBZ thereby enhancing its activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new luciferase-based quantitative assay for the evaluation of human trophoblast fusion.

TL;DR: A new fusion assay based on the transactivating potential of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) Tat protein on its promoter present in the long terminal repeat (LTR) region is proposed and results highlight the effectiveness and accuracy of this new quantification assay for trophoblast fusion.

Use of a bis-peroxovanadium compound for the treatment of immunosuppressed patients

TL;DR: In this article, a bis-peroxovanadium (BPV) compound was used to restore the immune functions and the overall immune response of a patient suffering from the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Journal ArticleDOI

A newly identified interaction between nucleolar NPM1/B23 and the HTLV-I basic leucine zipper factor in HTLV-1 infected cells

TL;DR: In this paper , the nucleophosmin (NPM1/B23) was identified as a new interaction partner of HBZ and showed that sHBZ and the less abundant uHBZ isoform interact with nucleolar B23 in infected cells and T-cell leukemia-positive patient cells, unlike equivalent antisense proteins of related non-leukemogenic HTLV-2, −3 and 4 viruses.
