Journal ArticleDOI

Implication of Different HIV-1 Genes in the Modulation of Autophagy.

TL;DR: The recent literature over the complex crosstalk of the autophagy pathway and HIV-1 is reviewed, with a particular focus on HIV- 1 viral proteins, which have been shown to modulate autophagic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Negative regulation of the NFAT1 factor by CD45: implication in HIV-1 long terminal repeat activation.

TL;DR: The results indicate that NFAT activation by stimuli acting in a more distal fashion from the TCR-mediated signaling pathway can be down-regulated by CD45 and that this CD45-dependent regulation in turn affects HIV-1 long terminal repeat activation.
Journal ArticleDOI

PGJ2 antagonizes NF-κB-induced HIV-1 LTR activation in colonic epithelial cells

TL;DR: The results suggest that addition of PGJ(2) in the environment of infected intestinal epithelial cells could reduce HIV-1 transcription, since sodium butyrate has been associated with a chronic stress response in AIDS patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcriptional and functional studies of Human Endogenous Retrovirus envelope EnvP(b) and EnvV genes in human trophoblasts.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that both HERV env genes are expressed in human trophoblasts but are not required for syncytialization.
