Lifetime of excitons in GaAs quantum wells

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed time resolved luminescence measurements under resonant excitation at 10 K on the free exciton in very high quality GaAs-AlAs quantum wells and found that the lifetime of the thermalized excitons is about 80 ps at low excitation and it increases with the excitation density.

Centre National D'Etudes des Telecommunications Lannion, France

TL;DR: In this article, both electron and hole mobilities can be obtained by using different excitation densities and compared with theoretical estimates, and the main results and interesting aspects of the interpretation of the results are discussed.
Book ChapterDOI

Novel Tuning Fork Sensor for Low-Temperature Near-Field Spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, a SNOM was used for a combined spatial and spectral analysis of the photoluminescence emissions in semiconductors, and a novel distance control system was used.
Book ChapterDOI

Ultrafast Dynamics of Electronic Capture and Intersubband Relaxation in GaAs Quantum Well

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamics of carrier capture and intersubband relaxation in GaAs quantum well have been measured, using a time-resolved photoluminescence technique.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

150 fs Cross-Gain Modulation Experiments on Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental technique which is an ultrafast cross-gain modulation (XGM) was proposed to obtain a I50-fa pump pulse and a weak cw probe signal.
