Clinical Applications of DNA Vaccines: Current Progress

TL;DR: The ability of the current, or second-generation, DNA vaccines to induce more-potent cellular and humoral responses opens up this platform to be examined in both preventative and therapeutic arenas.
Journal ArticleDOI

A DNA vaccine against chikungunya virus is protective in mice and induces neutralizing antibodies in mice and nonhuman primates.

TL;DR: A synthetic DNA vaccine delivered by in vivo electroporation that expresses a component of the CHIKV envelope glycoprotein and used this model to evaluate its efficacy was constructed and induced robust antigen-specific cellular and humoral immune responses, which individually were capable of providing protection against Chikungunya virus challenge in mice.

Consensus Prostate Antigens, Nucleic Acid Molecule Encoding The Same And Vaccine And Uses Comprising The Same

TL;DR: In this article, consensus amino acid sequences of prostate antigens that are capable of breaking tolerance in a targeted species, including PSA, PSMA, STEAP and PSCA, are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unique Th1/Th2 Phenotypes Induced during Priming and Memory Phases by Use of Interleukin-12 (IL-12) or IL-28B Vaccine Adjuvants in Rhesus Macaques

TL;DR: Data is presented that suggests that adjuvants differ in their relative abilities to bolster and skew immune responses in the short term compared with more distant time points, and that the scientific and medical communities would benefit from a more detailed analysis of adjuvant function.
