HERMES: a high-resolution fibre-fed spectrograph for the Mercator telescope
Gert Raskin,H. Van Winckel,Herman Hensberge,Alain Jorissen,Holger Lehmann,C. Waelkens,G. Avila,J. P. de Cuyper,Pieter Degroote,Rene Dubosson,L. Dumortier,Y. Frémat,Uwe Laux,Bernard Michaud,Johan Morren,J. Perez Padilla,Wim Pessemier,S. Prins,K. Smolders,S. Van Eck,J. Winkler +20 more
TL;DR: The HERMES high-resolution spectrograph project as discussed by the authors is based on the white-pupil beam folding for high resolution spectroscopy with a spectral resolution of 85'000 (63'000) for the low-resolution fiber.
Journal ArticleDOI
HERMES: a high-resolution fibre-fed spectrograph for the Mercator telescope
Gert Raskin,Hans Van Winckel,Herman Hensberge,Alain Jorissen,Holger Lehmann,Christoffel Waelkens,G. Avila,Jean-Pierre De Cuyper,Pieter Degroote,Rene Dubosson,L. Dumortier,Y. Frémat,Uwe Laux,Bernard Michaud,Johan Morren,Jesus Perez Padilla,Wim Pessemier,S. Prins,K. Smolders,Sophie Van Eck,J. Winkler +20 more
TL;DR: The HERMES high-resolution spectrograph project as mentioned in this paper is based on the white-pupil beam folding for high resolution spectroscopy with a spectral coverage from 377 to 900nm in a single exposure.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
The performance of the calibration module for SPHERE
Francois Wildi,Bernard Michaud,Michel Crausaz,Rene Dubosson,David Mouillet,Kjetil Dohlen,H. M. Schmid,Jean-Luc Beuzit +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Adaptive Optics (AOI) system and its three embedded loops, the coronagraphs, the Near Infrared (NIR) dual band imager, the NIR integral field spectrograph, the nIR spectrogram, the visible high accuracy polarimeter and the visible imager all require sophisticated calibration.

TL;DR: The HERMES high-resolution spectrograph project as mentioned in this paper is based on the white-pupil beam folding for high resolution spectroscopy with a spectral coverage from 377 to 900 nm in a single exposure.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A new Nasmyth mirror mechanism increases the number of focal stations of the Mercator Telescope
TL;DR: In this paper, a new mechanism for the Nasmyth mirror that enables the use of the second focal station and two compact intermediate foci at the front and the rear side of the telescope tube is presented.
