Journal ArticleDOI

NF-κB is essential for epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis in a model of breast cancer progression

TL;DR: Evidence of an essential role for NF-κB during distinct steps of breast cancer progression is provided and the cooperation of Ras- and TGF-β–dependent signaling pathways in late-stage tumorigenesis depends critically on NF-σB activity is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of Nuclear Factor κB Activation Attenuates Apoptosis Resistance in Lymphoid Cells

TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand), a recently identified DIL, also activates NFkappaB in lymphoid cell lines in a kinetic similar to TNFalpha, and inhibition of NFkappB activation may provide a molecular approach to increase apoptosis sensitivity in anticancer treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synergistic Activity of Sorafenib and Sulforaphane Abolishes Pancreatic Cancer Stem Cell Characteristics

TL;DR: Targeting of pancreatic cancer stem cells (CSC) by Sorafenib and the development of a strategy to enhance this effect are reported and data suggest that SF may be suited to increase targeting of CSCs by SO.
