Journal ArticleDOI

Competition between magnetism and superconductivity in rare-earth nickel boride carbides.

TL;DR: In this article, the competition between magnetism and superconductivity was investigated for the recently discovered R${\mathrm{Ni}}_{2}$${B}}-C superconductors with the magnetic rare-earth elements R=Tm,Er,Ho,Dy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Scaling of the temperature dependent Hall effect in La 2 − x Sr x CuO 4

TL;DR: The strongly temperature dependent R-H, a hallmark of cuprate superconductors, is found to be the low temperature part of a simple functional form f(T/$T) which becomes constant for Tg, similar to a temperature scale deduced from magnetic susceptibility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of bulk superconducting YBa2Cu4O8 at one atmosphere oxygen pressure

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the synthesis of the 124 phase in pure bulk form by a novel synthetic route in a flowing oxygen stream at 1 atm pressure, under oxidizing conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic penetration depth in single-crystal YBa2Cu3O7- delta.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the first measurement of the magnetic penetration depth lambda(T,theta) in single crystals of YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7-//sub delta/ (delta/similar to/0.1).
