Resveratrol: A Double-Edged Sword in Health Benefits
Bahare Salehi,Abhay Prakash Mishra,Manisha Nigam,Bilge Sener,Mehtap Kilic,Mehdi Sharifi-Rad,Patrick Valere Tsouh Fokou,Natália Martins,Javad Sharifi-Rad,Javad Sharifi-Rad +9 more
TL;DR: This review summarized current data on resveratrol pharmacological effects and confirmed its anticancer properties, as well as other bioactive effects, namely as anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, cardioprotective, vasorelaxant, phytoestrogenic and neuroprotective.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitory activity of some Turkish medicinal plants.
TL;DR: The chloroform:medianol (1:1) extracts of a number of the plant species belonging to eight families, namely Corydalis solida (L.) Swartz subsp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cholinesterase inhibitory activities of some flavonoid derivatives and chosen xanthone and their molecular docking studies.
Mahmud Tareq Hassan Khan,Ilkay Erdogan Orhan,Fatma Sezer Senol,Murat Kartal,Bilge Sener,Margita Dvorská,Karel Šmejkal,Tereza Šlapetová +7 more
TL;DR: In vitro inhibitory activities of four flavonoid derivatives of quercetin, rutin, kaempferol 3-O-beta-D-galactoside and macluraxanthone are examined to show a concentration-dependant inhibition of acetylcholinesterase and BChE and several strong hydrogen bonds to several important amino acid residues of both the enzymes were showed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibitory Activity of Marine Sponge-Derived Natural Products against Parasitic Protozoa
TL;DR: This is the first report of antiprotozoal activity of marine metabolites 1–14, and points out the potential of marine sponges in discovery of new antipro tozoal lead compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant and anticholinesterase evaluation of selected Turkish Salvia species
Ilkay Erdogan Orhan,Murat Kartal,Qamar Naz,A. Ahsan Ejaz,Gülderen Yilmaz,Yüksel Kan,Belma Konuklugil,Bilge Sener,M. Iqbal Choudhary +8 more
TL;DR: In vitro anticholinesterase and antioxidant activities of 56 extracts prepared with petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol obtained from 14 Salvia species are examined to indicate that nonpolar extracts ofSalvia species for anticholate activity and the polar extracts for antioxidant activity are worth further phytochemical evaluation for identifying their active components.
