Waste shells of mollusk and egg as biodiesel production catalysts.
Nawin Viriya-empikul,Pawnprapa Krasae,Buppa Puttasawat,Boonyawan Yoosuk,Nuwong Chollacoop,Kajornsak Faungnawakij +5 more
TL;DR: The solid oxide catalysts derived from waste shells of egg, golden apple snail, and meretrix venus were employed to produce biodiesel from transesterification of palm olein oil and showed high biodiesel production activity over 90% fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) in 2h.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biodiesel production over Ca-based solid catalysts derived from industrial wastes
Nawin Viriya-empikul,Pawnprapa Krasae,Waraporn Nualpaeng,Boonyawan Yoosuk,Kajornsak Faungnawakij +4 more
TL;DR: The solid oxide catalysts derived from the industrial waste shells of egg, golden apple snail, and meretrix venus were used as biodiesel production catalysts as discussed by the authors, and their catalytic activity in transesterification of palm olein oils and their physicochemical properties (by TG/DTA, EDX, SEM, N 2 sorption, CO 2 -TPD, and XRD) were systematically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly active MoS2, CoMoS2 and NiMoS2 unsupported catalysts prepared by hydrothermal synthesis for hydrodesulfurization of 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene
Boonyawan Yoosuk,Boonyawan Yoosuk,Jae Hyung Kim,Chunshan Song,Chawalit Ngamcharussrivichai,Pattarapan Prasassarakich +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of unsupported MoS 2 and Me/MoS 2 (Me = Co, Ni) catalysts prepared by hydrothermal synthesis in a laboratory was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biodiesel production from palm oil using hydrated lime-derived CaO as a low-cost basic heterogeneous catalyst
TL;DR: In this paper, hydrated lime-derived calcium oxide (CaO) was used as a catalyst for the transesterification of palm oil, and the results showed that the catalysts were characterized by TG-DTA, XRD, XRF, FT-IR, SEM, TPD-CO2 and BET by N2 adsorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rice husk-derived sodium silicate as a highly efficient and low-cost basic heterogeneous catalyst for biodiesel production
TL;DR: In this paper, a rice husk-derived sodium silicate was used as a solid catalyst for simple conversion of oils to biodiesel via the transesterification reaction, which was proved to be a pseudo-first order reaction with the activation energy (Ea) and the frequency factor (A) of 48.30kJ/mol and 2.775×−1 respectively.
