Antimicrobial peptides of the genus Bacillus: a new era for antibiotics.

TL;DR: This work focuses on Bacillus-derived AMPs as a novel alternative approach to antibacterial drug development and provides an overview of the biosynthesis, mechanisms of action, applications, and effectiveness of different AMPs produced by members of the Bacillus genus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ginsenoside Re Rescues Methamphetamine-Induced Oxidative Damage, Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Microglial Activation, and Dopaminergic Degeneration by Inhibiting the Protein Kinase Cδ Gene

TL;DR: Treatment with ginsenoside Re significantly attenuated methamphetamine-induced dopaminergic degeneration in vivo by inhibiting impaired enzymatic antioxidant systems, mitochondrial oxidative stress, mitochondrial translocation of protein kinase Cδ, mitochondrial dysfunction, pro-inflammatory microglial activation, and apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of the manufacturing process for black ginseng

TL;DR: In this paper, the steaming and drying optimum conditions for producing high levels of biologically active substances such as acid polysaccharides, ginsenoside Rg3, and polyphenols and low levels of benzopyrene were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of Ginsenosides and Non-Saponin Components of Red Ginseng from Landraces and New Varieties

TL;DR: The authors quantitatively analyzed eight varieties of 6-year-old red ginseng, including four local landraces from the Inje, Geumsan, Jinan, and Punggi regions and four new varieties, Chunpoong, Yunpoong and Guempoong for 10 ginsenosides, acidic polysaccharide, crude polyacetylene, and total polyphenol content.
Journal ArticleDOI
