TL;DR: A phylogeny of beetles based on DNA sequence data from eight nuclear genes, including six single‐copy nuclear protein‐coding genes, for 367 species representing 172 of 183 extant families provides a uniquely well‐resolved temporal and phylogenetic framework for studying patterns of innovation and diversification in Coleoptera.
Journal ArticleDOI
Large‐scale molecular phylogeny of metallic wood‐boring beetles (Coleoptera: Buprestoidea) provides new insights into relationships and reveals multiple evolutionary origins of the larval leaf‐mining habit
TL;DR: The first large‐scale molecular phylogenetic study of the superfamily Buprestoidea based on data from four genes for 141 ingroup species suggests that the leaf‐mining agriline tribe Tracheini is polyphyletic, as are several of its constituent subtribes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Agrilus Curtis (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) of the Baja California peninsula, México
TL;DR: The genus Agrilus Curtis 1825 is reviewed for the Baja California peninsula of Mexico and 11 species are recorded here for the first time and four are previously unknown to science and described as new.
Journal ArticleDOI
An annotated catalogue of the Buprestidae of Iran (Coleoptera: Buprestoidea)
TL;DR: An annotated taxonomic catalogue of the jewel beetles of Iran is given and it is likely that the number of jewel beetle species from Iran will be between 460-480 and possibly even more species.
Journal ArticleDOI
New species, taxonomic notes, and records for Agrilus Curtis (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) of México and the United States
TL;DR: The following new species and subspecies of the genus Agrilus are described: A. rifkindi Hespenheide, New Species, A. langei Obenberger, New Synonymy, and A. sublateralis Waterhouse.
