Journal ArticleDOI
A triplet of differently shaped spin-zero states in the atomic nucleus 186Pb
An Andreyev,Marc Huyse,P. Van Duppen,L. Weissman,D. Ackermann,J. Gerl,Fp Hessberger,Sigurd Hofmann,A. Kleinböhl,G. Münzenberg,S. Reshitko,Ch. Schlegel,H. Schaffner,P. Cagarda,M. Matos,S. Saro,A. Keenan,C. Moore,Cd O'leary,R. D. Page,Michael Taylor,Heikki Kettunen,Matti Leino,A. Lavrentiev,Ramon Wyss,Kristiaan Heyde +25 more
TL;DR: Here it is found experimentally that the lowest three states in the energy spectrum of the neutron deficient nucleus 186Pb are spherical, oblate and prolate, which is an apparently unique shape triplet.
Journal ArticleDOI
The decay of proton-rich nuclei in the mass A=36–56 region
C. Dossat,N. Adimi,F. Aksouh,F. Becker,A. Bey,B. Blank,C. Borcea,R. Borcea,A. J. Boston,M. Caamaño,G. Canchel,Marielle Chartier,D. Cortina,S. Czajkowski,F. de Oliveira Santos,A Fleury,Georgi P. Georgiev,J. Giovinazzo,S. Grévy,Robert Grzywacz,Margareta Hellström,Michio Honma,Z. Janas,D. Karamanis,J. Kurcewicz,M. Lewitowicz,M. J. Lopez Jimenez,C. Mazzocchi,I. Matea,V. A. Maslov,P. Mayet,C. Moore,M. Pfützner,M.S. Pravikoff,M. Stanoiu,I. Stefan,J. C. Thomas,J. C. Thomas +37 more
TL;DR: In a series of experiments at the SISSI/LISE3 facility of GANIL conducted between 1999 and 2004, this paper collected decay information for proton-rich nuclei between {sup 36}Ca and {sup 56}Zn.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shape evolution in heavy sulfur isotopes and erosion of the N=28 shell closure
Dóra Sohler,Zs. Dombrádi,János Timár,O. Sorlin,F. Azaiez,F. Amorini,M. Belleguic,Ch. Bourgeois,C. Donzaud,Josette Duprat,D. Guillemaud-Mueller,F. Ibrahim,J. A. Scarpaci,M. Stanoiu,M. J. Lopez,M. G. Saint-Laurent,F. Becker,F. Sarazin,C. Stodel,G. Voltolini,S. M. Lukyanov,V. A. Maslov,Yu. E. Penionzhkevich,Michel Girod,S. Peru,F. Nowacki,G. Sletten,R. Lucas,C Theisen,D. Baiborodin,Z. Dlouhy,J. Mrazek,C. Borcea,A. Bauchet,C. Moore,Michael Taylor +35 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the structure of neutron-rich nuclei has been investigated through in-beam $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-ray spectroscopy using the fragmentation reaction of a 60 MeV A ${}^{48}\mathrm{Ca}$ beam on a thin Be target.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alpha decay of the new isotopes 188,189 Po
Andrei Andreyev,Dieter Ackermann,P. Cagarda,J. Gerl,F. P. Heßberger,S. Hofmann,Marc Huyse,A. Keenan,Heikki Kettunen,A. Kleinböhl,A. Lavrentiev,Matti Leino,Bettina Lommel,M. Matos,G. Münzenberg,C. Moore,C.D. O'Leary,R. D. Page,S. Reshitko,S. Saro,Ch. Schlegel,H. Schaffner,Michael Taylor,P. Van Duppen,L. Weissman,Ramon Wyss +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evaporation residues were separated in-flight and subsequently identified on the basis of αγ and α-conversion electron coincidence measurements and of α-α position and time correlations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fine structure in the alpha decay of Po-188,Po-192
K. Van de Vel,Andrei Andreyev,Dieter Ackermann,H. J. Boardman,P. Cagarda,J. Gerl,F. P. Heßberger,S. Hofmann,Marc Huyse,D. Karlgren,D. Karlgren,I. Kojouharov,Matti Leino,Bettina Lommel,G. Münzenberg,C. Moore,Robert Page,S. Saro,P. Van Duppen,Ramon Wyss +19 more
TL;DR: The alpha decay of Po-188,Po-192 has been reexamined in order to probe the 0(+) states in the daughter nuclei Pb-184,Pb-188 that can be associated with coexisting spherical, oblate, and/or prolate structures.
