Efficiency of aluminum-pillared montmorillonite on the removal of cesium and copper from aqueous solutions.

TL;DR: Aluminum-pillared-layered montmorillonites (PILMs) were tested for their potential application in the removal of copper or cesium from aqueous solutions and showed that an equilibrium time of few minutes was needed for the adsorption of metal ions on PILMs.
Journal ArticleDOI

PV glazing technologies

TL;DR: In this paper, the latest achievements of semi-transparent PV windows and their impact on buildings energy performance and occupants comfort are reviewed in terms of cooling, heating, and artificial lighting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar thermal energy storage and heat pumps with phase change materials

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the significant processes taking place during phase transition, the recent advantages and the appropriate PCMs in the range of buildings operation conditions is presented, while the critical mechanisms in heat transfer augmentation are examined while the recent state of the art methods are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

New experimental validation of the pulse height weighting technique for capture cross-section measurements

U. Abbondanno, +134 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the accuracy of the pulse height weighting technique for the determination of neutron capture cross-sections is investigated and several causes of systematic deviation are identified and their effect is quantified.
Journal ArticleDOI

The urban heat island effect in a small Mediterranean city of high summer temperatures and cooling energy demands

TL;DR: The results of an urban heat island (UHI) study during summer and winter through a full year period (2010-2011) in a small city of western Greece are presented and analyzed as mentioned in this paper.
