Composition of the lunar surface as will be seen from SMART‐1: A simulation using Clementine data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a new technique for remote sensing determination of lunar surface composition in the context of the SMART-1 mission, which is based on spectral and composition data obtained by Lunar Soil Characterization Consortium for a few particle-size separates of lunar soils.
Journal ArticleDOI

A photometric function for analysis of lunar images in the visual and infrared based on Moon Mineralogy Mapper observations

TL;DR: In this article, the Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) spectral images were corrected to a standard geometry with the effects of viewing geometry removed, which enabled the correction of M3 spectral images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectrophotometry (0.33 to 1.07 μm) of 433 Eros and compositional implications

TL;DR: The spectral reflectance (0.33-1.07 micrometers) for the asteroid 433 Eros was determined as a function of rotational phase during January 28-30, and February 15, 1975 as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Martian dunite NWA 2737: Integrated spectroscopic analyses of brown olivine

TL;DR: A second Martian meteorite has been identified that is composed primarily of heavily shocked dunite, Northwest Africa (NWA) 2737 as discussed by the authors, which has several similarities to the Chassigny dunite cumulate, but the olivine is more Mg rich and is very dark and visually brown.
