The design and safety features of the IRIS reactor
Mario D. Carelli,L. E. Conway,L. Oriani,Bojan Petrovic,Carlo Lombardi,Marco Enrico Ricotti,Antonio Carlos de Oliveira Barroso,J.M. Collado,L. Cinotti,N. E. Todreas,Davor Grgić,M. M. Moraes,R.D. Boroughs,Hisashi Ninokata,D. T. Ingersoll,Francesco Oriolo +15 more
TL;DR: The International Reactor Innovative and Secure (IRIS) as discussed by the authors is an integral, modular, medium size (335 MWe) PWR, which has been under development since the turn of the century by an international consortium led by Westinghouse and including over 20 organizations from nine countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unified macro-to-microscale method to predict two-phase frictional pressure drops of annular flows
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the prediction of pressure gradients in adiabatic gas-liquid annular two-phase flow in the macro-to-microscale range.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-phase pressure drops in a helically coiled steam generator
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation regarding two-phase diabatic pressure drops inside a helically coiled heat exchanger has been carried out at SIET thermo-hydraulics labs in Piacenza (Italy).
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Steam Generator of the International Reactor Innovative and Secure
L. Cinotti,Maurizio Bruzzone,N. Meda,G. Corsini,Carlo Lombardi,Marco Enrico Ricotti,L. E. Conway +6 more
TL;DR: The International Reactor Innovative and Secure (IRIS) as discussed by the authors is a light water cooled, 335 MWe power reactor which is being designed by an international consortium as part of the US DOE NERI Program.
Journal ArticleDOI
Algebraic turbulence modeling in adiabatic gas–liquid annular two-phase flow
TL;DR: In this paper, two new algebraic turbulence models are proposed for both the liquid film and the droplet laden gas core of annular two-phase flow, which are calibrated with experimental data taken from the open literature and their performance critically assessed.
