Integral pwr with diverse emergency cooling and method of operating same

TL;DR: In this paper, a PWR with an integral reactor pressure vessel incorporating the steam generators and housed in a small high pressure containment vessel, is provided by circulating cooling water through the steam generator and heat exchangers in an external tank to cool the reactor vessel at a rate sufficient to lower the pressure in the vessel below that in containment.
ReportDOI

Feasibility Study of Supercritical Light Water Cooled Reactors for Electric Power Production

TL;DR: The supercritical water reactor (SCWR) has been the object of interest throughout the nuclear Generation IV community because of its high potential: a simple, direct cycle, compact configuration; elimination of many traditional LWR components; operation at coolant temperatures much higher than traditional LOWRs and thus high thermal efficiency.

Iris small break loca phenomena identification and ranking table (PIRT)

TL;DR: The International Reactor Innovative and Secure (IRIS) is a modular pressurized water reactor with an integral configuration (all primary system components, internals, pumps, steam generators, pressurizer, and control rod drive mechanisms are inside the reactor vessel) as discussed by the authors.
