Nuclear physics and its role for describing the early universe
R. G. Pizzone,Roberta Spartà,M. La Cognata,Livio Lamia,C. Spitaleri,Carlos A. Bertulani,A. Tumino +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an up-to-date compilation of direct cross sections of d(d, p)t, d (d, n)3He and 3He(d, p)4He reacti...
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutron Capture Cross Sections of Radioactive Nuclei
TL;DR: In this article, a statistical coupled channel theory was proposed to calculate the cross-section of a two-cluster nuclei on a deuteron target and an extension of the theory to a threecluster projectile incident on a twocluster target was discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nuclear clustering and the electron screening puzzle
TL;DR: Theoretical models were developed over the past 30 years and experimental measurements have been carried out to study electron screening in thermonuclear reactions as discussed by the authors, but none of the theoretical models were able to explain the high values of the experimentally determined screening potentials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small Effects in Astrophysical Fusion Reactions
TL;DR: In this article, the combined effects of vacuum polarization, relativity, Bremsstrahlung, and atomic polarization in nuclear reactions of astrophysical interest were studied, and it was shown that these effects do not solve the longstanding differences between the experimental data of nuclear reactions at very low energies and the theoretical calculations which aim to include electron screening.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of damping on the excitation of the double giant resonance
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of spreading widths on the excitation probabilities of the double giant dipole resonance was studied, taking Pb+Pb collisions as example, and the resulting effect on the amplitudes, and cross sections as a function of the width of the states and of the bombarding energy.
