MicroRNA-17/20a/106a modulate macrophage inflammatory responses through targeting signal-regulatory protein α

TL;DR: The role of identified microRNAs in controlling SIRPα synthesis in leukocytes and leukocyte inflammatory responses was determined in this paper, showing that miR-17, miR20a, and miR106a specifically bound to the same seed sequence within the 3' untranslated region and correlated inversely with SIRpα protein levels in various cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human cytomegalovirus reprogrammes haematopoietic progenitor cells into immunosuppressive monocytes to achieve latency

TL;DR: It is reported that HCMV reprogrammes human haematopoietic progenitor cells into a unique monocyte subset to achieve latency, which possesses higher levels of B7-H4, IL-10 and inducible nitric oxide synthase, a longer lifespan and strong immunosuppressive capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human Cytomegalovirus miR-UL148D Facilitates Latent Viral Infection by Targeting Host Cell Immediate Early Response Gene 5.

TL;DR: Mechanistically, it is shown that CDC25B plays an important role in suppressing HCMV IE1 and lytic gene transcription by activating cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK-1) and both gain-of-function and lose- of-function assays demonstrated that miR-UL148D promotes H CMV latency by helping maintain CDC 25B activity in host cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circulating human cytomegalovirus-encoded HCMV-miR-US4-1 as an indicator for predicting the efficacy of IFNα treatment in chronic hepatitis B patients.

TL;DR: Serum HCMV-miR-US4-1 can serve as a novel biomarker for predicting the outcome of IFNα treatment in CHB patients and is demonstrated to be a good indicator for interferon α treatment.
